On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II arrived at the Portsmouth Naval Base in Portsmouth, England to visit the HMS Lancaster.
According to the official website for the Royal Navy during today’s visit Her Majesty:
“…inspected a guard of honour comprising 34 members of HMS Lancaster’s 170 crew before attending a shoreside reception for sailors and their families.
The Queen then had a private lunch on board in the ship’s hangar and spoke to crew members about the ship’s deployment to the North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea last year.”
On May 20, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands officially opened the Koninkrijksjeugdparlement (Royal Youth Parliament) Sint Maarten.
On May 20, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark attended the AIDS Foundation HIV vaccine briefing at Christian VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg, on the occasion of World AIDS Vaccine Day (aka HIV Vaccine Awareness Day).
On the afternoon of May 20, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in Den Haag to attend Professor Jumoke Oduwole’s inaugural lecture entitled, International Law and the Right to Development: A Pragmatic Approach for Africa.
Professor Oduwole was appointed as the 2013-2015 Prince Claus Chair holder on September 1, 2013.
In anticipation of the upcoming christening of Her Royal Highness Princess Leonore of Sweden on June 8, 2014, at Drottningholms Slottskyrka the Swedish royal court released a new photo of the adorable princess and her proud parents, Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium hosted a reception at Château de Laeken for accredited ambassadors and their spouses.
Recently, Belgian journalist, Mr. Thomas de Bergeyck, from the fantastic program, Place Royale, had a chance to interview Their Royal Highnesses Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg at Château les Crostes in Lorgues, France.
