On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Real Casa de Correos in Madrid to preside over the delivery of the Premios de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil El Barco de Vapor y Gran Angular (literature awards ceremony).
On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall began their two-day visit to Northern Ireland.
According to the Telegraph newspaper, the royal couple visited the Enniskillen Castle Museum in County Fermanagh.
Later in the day, The Prince of Wales “…toured the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Regimental Museum [while] The Duchess of Cornwall visited St. Michael’s Catholic Church…” reports the BBC News.

On April 1, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway participated in the Train of Literature from Bodø to Stjørdal.
During today’s event the crown princess “…shared her favorite literature with audiences at various stops which included the towns of Fauske, Rognan, and Mo i Rana…” according to the newspaper, Local Norway.

On April 1, 2014, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain presented the Orden del Toisón de Oro to the former Secretario General Iberoamericano, Mr. Enrique V. Iglesias, at Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias, and Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain were also in attendance during today’s ceremony.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the delivery of the Premios Reina Sofía 2013 de “Rehabilitación e Integración”, “Accesibilidad Universal de Municipios” and the “Promoción de la Inserción Laboral de Personas con Discapacidad” of the Royal Board on Disability at Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
On April 1, 2014, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias and Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain presided over the delivery of the Gran Cruz de la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo to paralympic swimmer, Ms. María Teresa Perales Fernández, at Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
Ms. Fernández received the award in “…recognition of her outstanding sporting career as an example of overcoming and effort…” according to the Spanish royal court.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by the President of China, Mr. Xi Jingping, and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan, visited the Volvo Cars manufacturing plant in Ghent.
Whilst there Their Majesties and their guests met with the President of Volvo Cars, Mr. Hakan Samuelsson, employees of Volvo Cars, and toured the manufacturing facility.
Thereafter, Their Majesties and President Jingping and First Lady Xi Peng Liyuan arrived in the beautiful city of Bruges. Whilst there the reigning couple and their guests visited the Collège d’Europe where President Jinping gave a speech.

On the evening of March 31, 2014, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monte-Carlo to preside over the 2014 Croix Rouge Monégasque graduation ceremony.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark accompanied by representatives from the Mary Fonden and the Red Barnet Fri for Mobberi (Free from Bullying) arrived in Tallinn, Estonia, for a two-day visit.
According to the Danish royal court, the purpose of the trip is to visit with the Fri for Mobberi, “…an anti-bullying campaign now established in several kindergartens and schools in Estonia…”
The day began with a visit to the Suitsupääsupesa Lasteaed kindergarten where the lovely crown princess met with staff, teachers, and students who were happy to meet the future queen of Denmark.
Thereafter, Crown Princess Mary attended the opening of the Danish King’s Garden as well as presided over the opening of the exhibition entitled, A Modern Royal Household, at the Tallinn City Museum.
In the evening, the crown princess accompanied by her delegation attended a reception held in her honor and hosted by the Mayor of Tallinn, Mr. Edgar Savisaar, at the Tallinn Town Hall. Soon, the crown princess was off to Kadriorg Palace where she met with the President of Estonia, Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, and his wife, Mrs. Evelin Ilves.
