On February 12, 2014, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan met with the Vice President of the United States, Mr. Joe Biden, in Washington D.C.
According to Associated Press, His Majesty and Vice President Biden:
“…discussed Syria’s civil war and the growing violent extremism the conflict is fueling. [They also] discussed [ways of] achieving a political solution and the need for humanitarian access. Biden also offered support for Abdullah’s efforts to spur political and economic progress.”
His Majesty also held various meetings with members of the United States Congress and committees this afternoon. Discussions focused on the latest developments in the Middle East and ways to strengthen ties between the United States and Jordan.
Yesterday, His Majesty King Abdullah II held a meeting with United States Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry.
On the afternoon of February 12, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium visited the Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeidsbemiddeling in Beroepsopleiding (VDAB) Center of Maritime Competency in Zeebrugge.
According to AFP News, the center is “…an example of cooperation between VDAB, schools and employers…”

Researchers from around the world participated in today’s opening session in which discussions focused on “…the work of the late Sinologist, Professor Zürcher, and current research on Chinese Buddhism. The conference was organized on the occasion of the publication of the book, Buddhism in China: Collected Papers, by the late Professor Zürcher.”
