Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium Performs Her Last Official Engagement as a Princess. (VIDEO)

MathildeHer Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels this afternoon to attend the inauguration of the Fashion@Egmontpalace exhibition organized by SFP des Affaires Etrangères.  This is the last official engagement the princess will carry out before she becomes queen on Sunday, July 21, 2013.

Anyway, during today’s event Princess Mathilde viewed “…18 designs on display by 6 students from the Académies d’Anvers and the La Cambre Bruxelles.”

Fashion@Egmontpalace will be open to the public beginning on July 18, 2013.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Princess Royal Visit Cumbria. (VIDEOS)

On Wednesday, July 17, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal arrived in the county of Cumbria in North West England to carry out several engagements.

This morning Her Majesty and the princess visited the “…Kendal Town Centre, toured the James Cropper Specialty Papers Ltd headquarters, and visited Lake Windermere…” according to Buckingham Palace.

TMs King Albert II and Queen Paola Begin Their Farewell Tour of Belgium. (VIDEOS)

belgiumOn the morning of July 17, 2013, Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium arrived in the city of Ghent located in the province of East Flanders to begin their three-day farewell tour of Belgium.

His Majesty’s abdication in favor of his son, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe, will become effective on Sunday, July 21, 2013.

Upon their arrival at the Town Hall the reigning couple were warmly welcomed to Ghent by the mayor, Mr. Daniël Termont, and the Governor of the province of East Flanders, Mr. Jan Briers.  Soon, Their Majesties were ushered into the Town Hall where they were welcomed by various local officials and other VIPs.

After a lovely reception, where they were presented with a gift from the mayor, Their Majesties visited the STAM Museum.  The museum presents the history:

“…of the city of Ghent on the historic Bijloke site. A permanent circuit leads visitors along a chronological trail of objects and multimedia which trace the development and growth of Ghent. Temporary exhibitions explore the concept of ‘urbanity’ from different angles.”

In the afternoon, Their Majesties visited the newly constructed Ghelamco Arena home to the K.A.A. Ghent football team.

TRHs Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias Participate in a Ceremony at the Escuela Naval Militar de Oficiales. (VIDEO)

On the morning of July 16, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived in Marín, located in north-west Spain, to participate in the Escuela Naval Militar de Oficiales graduation ceremony.  During today’s event Prince Felipe presented commissions to 86 Naval officers.

TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Visit Brixham. (VIDEO)

On July 16, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Brixham in the county of Devon to “…meet with members of the local community and fishermen at the Brixham Marina…” according to Clarence House.

Afterward, the prince participated in the closing session of the workshop entitled, Fishing Into the Future, and attended a reception hosted by the International Sustainability Unit and SeaFish.

Meanwhile, The Duchess of Cornwall visited the “… West England School and College (WESC), a specialist centre for those with visual impairments in Exeter…” according to the BBC News.  During her visit the lovely duchess met with staff and supporters of the WESC.

MathildeOn the morning of July 16, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium arrived in town of Vosselaar to visit House of Colours.

According to the Belgian royal court the House of Colours provides: 

“…activities where people from different cultural backgrounds come together and supports young people to become global citizens.  The House of Colours also provides educational projects for children and other initiatives that promotes inclusion.  The concept of solidarity is central to the House of Colours work.”
