Cheesiest trailer ever.
The controversial film, Grace of Monaco, hasn’t been released yet, and already there is drama between the director and the film’s U.S. distributors. Last month the Weinstein Company — the U.S. distributors — released the trailer for film, and to be honest with you… it sucked. Big time.
Apparently, the film’s director, Mr. Olivier Dahan, is whining to the French press stating that he had absolutely nothing to do with the cheesy trailer (which looked like a bad Chanel No.5 advertisement) nor the re-editing of the film.
When a journalist from the French newspaper, Liberation, asked about how he felt when he heard the news that the Grace of Monaco release date was pushed back until the spring of 2014, Mr. Dahan gave a flippant reply:
“…I don’t care. They can release it when they want. It’s right to struggle, but when you confront an American distributor like Weinstein, without naming names, there is not much you can do.”
Um, yeah, just a little advice to you, Mr. Dahan, if you want your career to last don’t mess with Harvey. No, really. Don’t. Just go with it and pretend everything is sunshine and daisies.
