On January 14, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands along with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven attended a reception for the participants of the Ambassadors Conference held at the Koninklijk Paleis in Amsterdam.
For those of you who live outside of France and Monaco and missed last night’s documentary from M6 entitled, Intimité et Pouvoir: Un An Dans La Vie du Prince Albert de Monaco, well, now is your chance. 🙂
Overall, the documentary is, in my opinion, one of the best I have seen in a long time. And, it seems that I am not the only one who enjoyed the program. Over 4 million viewers watched last night’s documentary making it the highest rated show of the night and the highest rating the M6 network has had in years.
Well, it seems 2013 is not off to a good start for His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Mr. Diego Torres, who is being charged with fraud and corruption along side his former Instituto Nóos business partner, Mr. Iñaki Urdangarín (son-in-law of His Majesty), is threatening to release a “… series of emails that would bring down the Spanish monarchy…” unless prosecutors “… cut a deal to protect him from a prison sentence.”
The emails, some of which have already been released to the Spanish media, involves the old king’s “alleged” mistress, Ms. Corinna Sayn-Wittgenstein. You remember her, right? She was the one who arranged and attended the lavish $58,000 elephant slaughtering trip to Botswana last year in which His Majesty broke his hip.

The beautiful images were recently shot by Belgian photographer, Mr. Michel Gronemberger. On his website Mr. Gronemberger notes that he did not use Photoshop that gave the princess a flawless look; instead he used a special lighting technique which he explains is “… very difficult to master.” Mr. Gronemberger also noted that he wanted to photograph the princess in a very “…classic, feminine style and unadorned… [I wanted] to show the elegance of a woman, who, in addition, is the Princess of Belgium… ”

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July. The Duchess’s condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month.”
