On August 2, 2012, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh along with Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Wessex attended the Men’s Lightweight Boxing match held at the ExCel Arena in London. The royals cheered as they watched Josh Taylor of Team GB and Domenico Valentino of Team Italy beat the crap out of each other. Sadly, Mr. Taylor lost. The score: 15-10.
Across town Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal watched the Men’s Double Trap Shooting Final held at the Royal Artillery Barracks. Mr. Peter Wilson of Team GB won the gold medal. 🙂
Meanwhile, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Men’s Singles Quarterfinal match to support Mr. Andy Murray of Team GB who was playing against Mr. Nicolas Almagro of Team Spain. So, who won? Mr. Murray of Team GB, of course. 🙂
Afterward, the royal couple along with the ever present third wheel of the bunch (I’m kidding) His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales as well as Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal and her husband, Mr. Timothy Laurence, attended the Men’s Team Sprint Final in Track Cycling.
The royal family along with 6,000 fans clapped and screamed inside the Velodrome for Team GB cyclists Philip Hindes, Sir Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny. The cycling trio won the gold medal and set a world record. Team France received the silver medal and Team Germany won the bronze.
And, that’s it for today! 🙂
