A highlight of today’s event included a visit to Burnley, “… see the regeneration efforts by The Prince’s Charities.”

According to the official website for the Prince of Wales:

Six of The Prince’s Charities have collaborated to make a difference in Burnley, Lancashire in a bid to revitalize the former world centre of the cotton industry.

The Prince of Wales has been a regular presence in the town which has suffered from economic decline and social deprivation in recent years. This was Her Majesty’s first visit since 1987.

Accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh as part of her nationwide Diamond Jubilee tour, The Queen was greeted with a warm welcome by hundreds of well-wishers as the royal party boarded a barge which took them along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

The short journey took them to the Weavers’ Triangle which takes its name from the cotton workers who were housed and worked there in the 19th century.

Together with His Royal Highness they met young people and organizations who have worked with The Prince’s Charities.

They then attended the start of The Prince’s Charities Regeneration Summit at the heart of the planned multi-million pound regeneration plans for the Weavers’ Triangle which The Prince believes has huge potential and could be ‘the real making of the town’.

Adiós, Senorita! His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Allegedly Dumps His Longtime and Controversial Mistress, Princess Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein

In today’s edition of the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, well-known journalist, Pilar Eyre, reports that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain has allegedly kicked his longtime and controversial mistress, Princess Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, to the curb!

Adiós, senorita!

The old king allegedly ended his relationship with the tarty German princess after the infamous Botswana Affair which resulted in the massive backlash against him from the people of Spain and from around the world.  I suppose he’s trying to rehabilitate his reputation as a responsible dude as well as loving husband.

Any way…

The blonde and busty princess has apparently fled to Monte-Carlo, Monaco where she will remain in hiding indefinitely.  She has also hired a “… prestigious lawyer from Germany, Mr. Matthias Prinz…” According to Pilar Eyre, the reason why the blonde princess hired Mr. Prinz is to “… track all international media in search of information that can damage the honour of his client…”

Too late.  Eyes
