A Royal Year with the Dutch Royal Family (VIDEO)

Well, it’s been quite a year for the members of the Dutch royal family. As a result the network, NOS, released new program highlighting the royal year that was including Princess Maxima’s 40th birthday as well as discussions regarding the modernization of the monarchy.  Click the link below to watch.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco Attends a Conference at the Musée Océanographique

On December 14, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco attended Antarctica: 1911-2011 environmental conference held at the Musée Océanographique in Monaco.  The purpose of the conference was to discuss various environmental issues and the technological developments; moreover, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen, successful trek to the South Pole.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Participates in a Meeting in Madrid, Spain

On December 15, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the meeting of the Board of the Foundation for Help Against Drug Addiction (FAD) in Madrid, Spain.  The Queen was accompanied by the president and the director general of the SDF, Jose Angel Sanchez and Ignacio Asiaín Calderon.

 The Foundation for Help Against Drug Abuse is a private, nonprofit, non-denominational and independent of any political affiliation, a charitable-care, and equipped with Category II Consultative Status with the ECOSOC of the United Nations . The fundamental mission of FAD is the prevention of drug consumption and its consequences.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Family Attend the Prince Claus Award in Amsterdam

On December 14, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix, Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Maxima, Princess Laurentien, Prince Constantijn , Princess Mabel, and Prince Friso attended the 2011 Prince Claus Award held at the Royal Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam.  The top award went to Ntone Edjabe, the founder ofthe Pan-African magazine, Chimurenga.

Chimurenga, meaning “Freedom Struggle”, is an online magazine that focuses on art, culture and politics. The Prince Claus Awards are presented by the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development since 1997, awarded annually to artists, thinkers and cultural organizations, particularly in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.

T.R.H.s Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium at Liege University Hospital

On December 14, 2011, T.R.H.s Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium were at Liege University Hospital to visit the victims of the shooting rampage that took place earlier this week.  After spending time with the victims and their families the future king and queen of Belgium signed the book of condolences at the city hall.
