H.M. Queen Liliʻuokalani of Hawai’i: Birthday Celebrations Honoring Hawai’i’s Last Queen

On September 2, 1838, Lydia Liliʻu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamakaʻeha on the island of O’ahu many know her as Her Majesty Queen Liliʻuokalani of Hawai’i.  In honor of Hawai’i’s great and last queen there will be various celebrations throughout the islands this weekend.

One major event will be the ‘Onipa‘a celebrations to be held at I’olani Palace on Sunday September 4, 2011.  The event begins at 10am.  For more information click here.

‘Les premiers pas d’une Princesse Charlène’: An Article

In today’s edition of the newspaper, Monaco-Matin,  there is an article about H.S.H. Princess Charlène and her charity work with the Special Olympics as well as The Giving Trust Organization in South Africa.  The article also mentions that the princess is currently developing her own foundation which will be announced in the coming months.  Click here to read the article.
