Princess Sarah bint Faisal of Jordan, the Niece of King Abdullah II of Jordan, Marries Ali Murabit Mohammed Al-Sawaf, the Royal Hashemite Court Confirms

In Amman, Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah bint Faisal of Jordan has married Mr. Ali Murabit Mohammed Al-Sawaf.

The marriage contract ceremony, known in Arabic as the aqd qiran, took place at  Zahran Palace.

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan, Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein of Jordan, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II of Jordan, the bride’s father, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein of Jordan, the bride’s mother, Princess Alia Tabbaa, and other members of the Royal Family of Jordan were in attendance.

No details concerning a future reception or additional celebrations have been announced by the Royal Hashemite Court.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah bint Faisal of Jordan was born on March 27th, 1997. She is the daughter of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein of Jordan and his former wife, Princess Alia Tabbaa.

Prince Faisal is the younger brother of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, and the son of the late King Hussein of Jordan and his former wife, Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein of Jordan.

Princess Sarah is a niece of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and a first cousin of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan.  She is also the twin sister of Her Royal Highness Princess Aisha bint Faisal of Jordan.  

Princess Aisha bint Faisal of Jordan married Mr. Karim Al Mufti in a marriage contract ceremony at Zahran Palace in Amman on May 12th, 2025. The couple’s engagement had been announced by the Royal Hashemite Court on June 6th, 2024.

Princess Sarah bint Faisal of Jordan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and a Master’s degree in Event Organization and Design, both awarded by the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.

She currently serves as Assistant Director of the Olympic Preparation Centre in the Kingdom of Jordan. Her professional work has focused on the development of Jordanian athletes and the support of the Kingdom’s sporting sector.

Princess Sarah has also undertaken public engagements connected with Jordanian sport. In 2023, she served as head of the Jordanian mission participating in the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games.

Mr. Ali Murabit Mohammed Al-Sawaf was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1997.

He received his early education at King’s Academy in Amman before completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at King’s College London in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Al-Sawaf works as an engineer specializing in artificial intelligence and software. He has been described as a specialist in advanced technological solutions.

Today’s marriage contract ceremony followed the couple’s engagement. The engagement followed a jahah, the formal request for a bride’s hand in marriage by the family of the prospective groom.

The jahah took place on January 15th, 2025. A delegation presented the formal request on behalf of Mr. Al-Sawaf at a ceremony in Amman.

In Berlin, Germany, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein of Jordan visited the ABB Training Center, one of the German capital’s largest industrial and vocational education facilities.

According to the Royal Hashemite Court, the visit focused on technical and vocational education and the exchange of expertise between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Jordan in areas connected to industrial development and national infrastructure projects.

During the visit, the Crown Prince spoke positively about Germany’s vocational training model and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the center and Jordanian institutions, particularly in sectors requiring highly trained technical personnel.

The Crown Prince also referenced Jordan’s National Water Conveyance Project and planned railway initiatives, noting the importance of developing a qualified workforce capable of supporting large-scale strategic projects.

Their Royal Highnesses also received briefings on the center’s training programs in robotics, automation, and digitalisation before touring workshops and industrial simulation facilities designed to provide trainees with practical technical experience.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Meets with Women at the Famous Al-Karak Castle for Iftar.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan met with a group of women for Iftar at the famous Al-Karak Castle in Jordan.

According to a press release, Her Majesty The Queen where she commended the women for their contributions to local society who are active in the fields of education, social welfare, culture, volunteer work, and charitable efforts.

After the breaking of fast (Iftar), Her Majesty expressed her warm wishes for the holy month of Ramadan to the accomplished women in attendance and their families, adding that she has sorely missed these pleasant gatherings.

” ‘I am very happy to be here during the first week of Ramadan, surrounded by my sisters, the devoted women of Al Karak,’ Queen Rania said.

‘Ramadan is always a month of goodwill, blessings, and reconnecting with loved ones, but this year it feels even more special than usual – perhaps because we have been unable to get together for Iftar like this for the past two years,’ she added.

In turn, the Governor of Al Karak, Mohammad Fayez, thanked Her Majesty for her work to uplift the lives of people across the country. He went on to highlight the positive feedback of a group of women participating in an Umrah mission organized by the Queen this Ramadan.

A total of 550 women hailing from across Jordan will perform the lesser pilgrimage to Mecca as part of the mission throughout the holy month, the first group of whom left Jordan on Tuesday.”
