H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh Attend a Service at Westminster Abbey (VIDEO)

This afternoon in London, England, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Prince of Wales attended a service at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.  After the service, presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the royal couple along with the Prince of Wales attended a reception.

H.I.M Emperor Akihito of Japan Remains in the Hospital with a Persistent Fever (VIDEO)

On November 6, 2011, H.I.M. Emperor Akihito of Japan was hospitalized for Bronchitis.  Per the Japanese news agency, NHK World:

Doctors at the University of Tokyo Hospital held a news conference on Tuesday to brief reporters on the Emperor’s condition.

They said the Emperor had a mild fever when he entered the hospital on November 6th with bronchitis. He was scheduled to leave last Friday, but was unable to do so because his fever had returned.

The doctors said the Emperor’s temperature is still high and he has lost his appetite.

They also said he may be developing bronchitis again or have a new infection of his respiratory system, so they are giving him other types of antibiotics.
The medical team declined to specify how much longer the Emperor will have to stay in hospital, but said that even if he can be discharged in a week or so, they want him to rest until the end of the month. source

T.M.s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan Visit Japan: Day Two (VIDEO)

On November 16, 2011, T.M.s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan continued their official visit to Japan this afternoon.

H.I.H. Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan welcomed the royal couple at the Imperial Palace on behalf of the Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. The Emperor is still in the hospital battling Bronchitis.  During the welcoming ceremony the national anthems of the two countries were played, and King Jigme received a salute from a Ground Self-Defense Force Honor Guard.

In the evening there was a state banquet at the Imperial Palace with 150 people in attendance including Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda. In his welcoming speech, Crown Prince Naruhito noted that it was a “…pleasure to welcome the King and Queen so soon after their marriage.”  

Crown Prince Naruhito also noted that his father, Emperor Akihito, expressed “…gratitude to Bhutan for the aid extended to victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan.”

T.R.H.s Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium Visit the Province of Luxembourg (VIDEOS)

On November 16, 2011, T.R.H.s Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium visited the province of Luxembourg.  The royal couple’s first stop was the Ferme du Monceau (Monceau Farm) in Vaux-sur-Sure and then they visited the transport company, Charlier. In the afternoon, the prince and princess travelled to the town of Neufchâteau where they attended a reception at the City Hall in their honor. Upon leaving the City Hall hundreds the royal couple mingled with hundreds of locals who where waiting for the royal couple outside.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II meets with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. Plus, Other News

On Tuesday November 15, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan at Buckingham Palace.

Later on in the afternoon, Queen Elizabeth II knighted one of the most successful English horse trainers, Sir Henry Cecil, during an investiture ceremony held at Buckingham Palace. After the ceremony, Sir Cecil noted, “I’m very honoured to receive this, this is the biggest honour I’ll get in my lifetime.”

H.M. King Juan Carlos of Spain Holds Several Audiences at Zarzuela Palace

On November 15, 2011, His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain held several audiences at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.

His Majesty King Juan Carlos first received Mr. Rafael del Rio Sendino, president of Caritas and Mr. Sebastian Mora Spanish Rosado, Spanish Secretary General of Caritas:

The Caritas is the official federation entities, Charities of the Catholic Church in Spain, established by the Episcopal Conference, which develops within Spain an important role in promoting social support and social groups in a precarious situation and/or social exclusion.

The commitment to these situations is supported by the free labor of more than 65,000 volunteers, representing 90 percent of human resources of the institution in Spain.

Next, the he received members from the Board of Management of the University Hospital of Navarra on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

And, finally King Juan Carlos received the board of directors from Bankia.

Bankia develops a model of universal banking business based on a multi-brand, multichannel management focused on meeting the financial needs of 12 million customers in all segments: individuals, small businesses, large corporations and public and private institutions.

T.M.s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan Arrive in Japan for an Official Visit: Day One (VIDEO)

On November 15, 2011, T.M.s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan arrived in Tokyo, Japan to begin their six-day official visit to the country.

The reigning couple met with Japanese Prime Minister, Yoshihiko Noda and his wife, Hitomi, at the Akasaka guesthouse in Tokyo where they discussed important issues concerning their countries.

During their visit King Jigme and Queen Jetsun are scheduled to visit Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture and meet local youth, attend a gala banquet with members of the Japanese Imperial family, visit Keio University were the king will receive an honorary doctorate, and much more.
