On May 11, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was presented with a cool new solar powered car entitled, SolarWorld Grand Turismo, at the Palais Princier de Monaco. The car was presented to the sovereign prince from representatives from L’Université de Bochum.
On May 10, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the inauguration of a new exhibition held at the Musée Océanographique entitled, The Littoral Zone.
The exhibition, by British artist Mr. Marc Quinn, consists of “… paintings, sculptures and installations…” If you are interested in viewing, The Littoral Zone, the exhibition ends on October 15, 2012. For more information please visit the official website for the Musée Océanographique here.

Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg participated in the 2012 ALFI Responsible Investing Conference: Making a Difference on May 10, 2012.
The event, held at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Kirchberg, focuses on microfinance and responsible investing. During today’s conference Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa gave a speech, “…on the theme of ‘Luxembourg’s role in responsible investing’.”

Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall visited the BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow to celebrate the network’s 60th anniversary.
During their visit the royal couple met with BBC Scotland employees and were given a tour of the studio. Afterward, the Prince of Wales was “… invited to read a specially written weather bulletin with references to royal residences in Scotland.”

Later on in the afternoon, the Duchess of Cornwall hosted a reception for locals at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh as part of the Big Jubilee Lunch. Afterward, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall visited the City of Glasgow College where they meet participants involved in the Prince’s Trust Get Into Cooking Program. The purpose of the program is “… to give youngsters the skills and experience needed to work in the hospitality sector.”

On May 10, 2012, His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium visited the European Council, in the Justus Lipsius building, in Brussels. Whilst there the king met with Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the EC.
Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Paola visited the Centre for Palliative Care to celebrate their 25th anniversary and “… the 15th anniversary of the Palliative Care Unit and the 10th anniversary of Heidehuis, three sections of the network of palliative ‘Noord West – Vlaanderen.'”
On May 9, 2012, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan welcomed the Peruvian President, Mr. Ollanta Humala, and his lovely wife Nadine, to the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
The president participated in a brief meeting with Emperor Akihito whereupon discussions focused on “… economic and educational cooperation…” Afterward the Emperor and Empress of Japan hosted a fabulous luncheon for their guests at the Imperial Palace.
On May 9, 2012 Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover participated in a meeting at the Grand Véfour in Paris, France with the “… literary Council of the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco…”
The purpose of the meeting, according to the Principauté de Monaco Gouvernement Monaco, is to establish the list of those:
…selected for the Prince Pierre de Monaco Literary Award. Writers in the running include, Victor-Lévy Beaulieu, René de Ceccaty, Frank Étienne, Jean-Paul Kauffmann and Alain Mabanckou.
Prince Pierre de Monaco Literary Awards will be presented on October 2, 2012 in Monaco.
