His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Celebrates the 68th Anniversary of the Liberation of Monaco.

On September 2, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco celebrated the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Monaco.  On the place du Palais there was a lovely exhibition showcasing various “…vehicles, weapons, clothing, and other unique items…”

In the evening there was a gala dance featuring jazz artists such as the Charly Vaudano Quintet.  Tomorrow the sovereign prince will participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the “… Monument aux Morts and on the graves of the Monégasque resistance fighters, Rene Borghini and Joseph Lajoux…”

Hawai’i Celebrates Her Majesty Queen Liliʻuokalani’s Birthday. (VIDEOS)

On Sunday, September 2, 2012, the people throughout the Hawaiian Islands will celebrate the late Queen Liliʻuokalani’s birthday.  At ‘Iolani Palace there will be an ‘Onipa’a celebration presented by the “… Hawai’i Pono’i Coalition, the celebration opens with an Oli by kumu Kalani Akana followed by a hula performance as well as an ecumenical service honoring the Queen…”

Random Royal News Regarding Members of the Belgian Royal Family. (VIDEO)

On Sunday, September 2, 2012, Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium along with other members of the Belgian royal family participated in a photo-op on the grounds of Château de Laeken.

In the afternoon, the royal family attended a garden party to celebrate 20th anniversary of the Fondation Reine Paola (Queen Paola Foundation).  Guests included “…partners and beneficiaries of societal projects supported by the Fondation Reine Paola…” as well as  patrons and employees of the Foundation.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Attend the 2012 Braemar Gathering (VIDEO)

On Saturday, September 1, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh along with Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended the 2012 Braemar Gathering held at the held at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in the village of Braemar in Scotland.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Attends the Presentation of “Soldaat van Oranje”

On August 30, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje attended the presentation of the musical entitled, Soldaat van Oranje, held at a former naval airbase in Valkenburg.  The prince was accompanied by the Chief of Defence, General Tom Middendorp, as well as top commanders from the Royal Netherlands Navy, Army and Air Force.

According to RVD, Soldaat van Oranje, is based on the true story of Dutch resistance fighter, Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema.  At the beginning of WWII Mr. Roelfzema:

“… escapes to England, after resistance actions in the Netherlands…From there he offers resistance by including radio equipment to the Netherlands to smuggle for reliable radio contact. He is also active as a pilot. At the end of the war he accompanies Queen Wilhelmina, in the position of adjutant, on her return to the Netherlands.”

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Visits the Centro de Gestión del Tráfico in Madrid.

On the morning of August 30, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain visited the Centro de Gestión del Tráfico (CGT) in Madrid.  The old king was accompanied by the Director General of Traffic, Ms. Maria Segui, and Interior Minister, Mr. Jorge Diaz to name a few.

During his visit to the CGT, the old king was given a tour of the facility and learned about the “… traffic management systems from the command post…” 

Yeah, it was an exciting day.   🙂
