Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the 67th United Nations General Assembly.

On September 24, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 67th United Nations General Assembly held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.

The princess also participated in the official launch of the Better Than Cash (BTC) Alliance this afternoon. Attendees at today’s launch included the Economic Secretary of Kenya, Mr. Geoffrey Mwau as well as the Budget and Management Secretary from the Philippines, Mr. Florencio Abad, to name a few.

So, what is the BTC Alliance?  Well, it is a:

“…coalition of private institutions, governments, and international organizations committed to implementing cashless payment systems to facilitate transparency in government transactions.”

News Regarding His Royal Highness Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Comtesse Stéphanie de Lannoy.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Visit Aberdeen, Scotland. (VIDEO)

On September 24, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh visited Aberdeen, Scotland.  Whilst there Her Majesty opened the new Sir Duncan Rice library at University of Aberdeen as well as visited the Marischal College.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal Visits Zambia: Day One.

On Monday, September 24, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal arrived at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia to begin her four-day visit to the African nation as part of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Upon her arrival the princess was greeted by various government officials as well as the British High Commissioner to Zambia, Mr. James Thornton.  Afterward, she met with the former President of Zambia, Mr. Kenneth Kaunda, at the University Teaching Hospital.  Mr. Kaunda was rushed to the hospital several days ago for “a high fever and suspected malaria.”  Thankfully, Mr. Kaunda is recovering quite well.

The princess also had a chance to meet with Acting President, Mr. Alexander Chikwanda, and visited the charity Fountain of Hope.  In the evening the princess attended a gala dinner “… hosted by the Government of Zambia and a Garden Party given by the British High Commissioner.”

His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias Holds Audiences.

 

On September 24, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias held audiences with various “… colonels of the Army and the Air Force and captains of the Navy, who have been appointed to take command in various military units” at the Palacio de El Pardo.

The prince also held an audience with brigadier generals from the Army, Air Force and Navy admirals according to Casa Real.

 

 

His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium Attends the 27th Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT).

On September 24, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium attended the opening session of the 27th Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT) held at the Palais des Congrès in Liège.

The four-day conference brings together international researchers and scientists to:

“… exchange information on design, construction and operation of fusion experiments and on the technology for present fusion machines, the next step and future power plants.”

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Attends the 30th International Congress Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences Conference.

On September 24, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was in Maastricht to attend the opening of the 30th International Congress Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences conference.

Upon his arrival, the prince was warmly welcomed by representatives from the Dutch Genealogical Society and the Central Bureau for Genealogy (organizers of today’s event), the Mayor of Maastricht, Mr. Onno Hoes as well as the Governor of the Province of Limburg, Mr. Theo Bovens.

According to RVD, the conference:

“… is held every two years and focuses on scientists and lovers of family history and surnames (genealogy) and heraldry and coats of arms (heraldry). There are lectures about DNA testing and family history, the origins of heraldry, and coats of arms of former colonies and new countries.”
