On March 28, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh attended Maundy Service held at the Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. Her Majesty will distribute the Royal Maundy during the Service. During today’s event Her Majesty “…Her Majesty distributed the traditional Royal Maundy money during the Service.”

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco sure has been a busy little beaver this afternoon. Anyway, the lovable “green” prince, as Honorary Chairman of the Students on Ice Foundation, attended the 2013 Conférence Students on Ice held at the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.
In other news, beginning on April 3-4, 2013, the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, and his wife will make an official visit to Monaco, at the invitation of Prince Albert II, on the “…occasion of the 20th anniversary of Monaco entering the United Nations.”
During his upcoming visit Mr. Ban Ki-moon will visit the Musée Océanographique, accompanied by the sovereign prince, to deliver a speech to the Corps Constitués, attend an official gala dinner at the Palais Princier and much more. 🙂
On March 27, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan participated in the “…4th Meeting and Related Meetings of High-level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda…” in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
On the evening of March 27, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium attended the Womed Award ceremony in Brussels. According to the Belgian royal court this award is “…presented to the best female entrepreneur…”
On March 27, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales was at Kew Gardens where he planted a tree in memory of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (2004), founder of the Green Belt Movement, environmentalist, political and human rights activist the late Ms. Wangari Maathai. Ms. Maathai, born in Kenya, died of Ovarian cancer in 2011.
During today’s event the heir to the British throne gave a moving speech regarding the late Ms. Maathai and vowed to end the disgusting practice of “…illegal poaching of wild animals.”
According to the official website for the Prince of Wales:
“The Prince [will] join forces with his son, the Duke of Cambridge, and stage a conference on the illegal poaching of wild animals. The Prince is Patron of the WWF-UK and The Duke is Patron of Tusk Trust, both conservation charities working to preserve endangered species for future generations.
His Royal Highness will host the summit at St James’s Palace in May, gathering together key conservationists and policy decision-makers to find a solution to the problem The Prince described as having reached ‘crisis point’.”
On March 27, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2013 EVER Monaco: 8th Edition of the Exposition and Conférence Internationales Véhicules Écologiques and Énergies Renouvelablesheld at the Grimaldi Forum.
According to the site, EverMonaco, this important four-day event is:
“…intended to be a forum of specialists coming from both universities and industries, involved in R&D projects in the area of ecological vehicles or renewable energies or both. Participants will have the opportunity to share their scientific, technical, business and social experiences with other attendees coming from all over the world, through the presentation and the discussion of their recent works either at lecture or poster sessions. Moreover, they will have the chance to be updated with the latest technological innovations to be discovered in the booths of a high-tech exhibition which will be organized in parallel with the conference.”
During today’s opening the sovereign prince met with exhibitors and inspected vehicles as well as other interesting thingamajigs on display.
On March 27, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the Jordan Armed Forces headquarters in Amman.
According to the Petra News Agency, His Majesty met with the “…Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mashal Al Zaben, and was briefed on programs implemented by the army and issued directives regarding a number of issues of concern to the armed forces.”
