HRH Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Views a Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Tramsschapp Cultural Center

On Friday, March 18, 2022, His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg arrived at the Tramsschapp Cultural Center in Luxembourg City to view the contemporary art exhibition entitled, Faux Pas.

The exhibition showcases 200 art pieces from seventy artists, painters, sculptors, street artists, muralists, and photographers including the famous Tom Faber. Yeah, I had to Google him as well…

(VIDEO) HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark is in Greenland to Film a New Documentary

On Friday, March 18, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark arrived in Greenland to film an upcoming documentary produced by the Danish television network, DR1. The two-part documentary will focus on the royal family of Denmark’s “…efforts to strengthen ties with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The recordings in the Faroe Islands were made before the pandemic, and the recordings in Greenland have been postponed until 2022 [which they are currently filming].”

In an Instagram post the future king of Denmark noted:

“It has been a few years since I last visited Greenland. But now I have just landed in the beautiful country, where the minus degrees at the moment are double-digit and the wind is biting! 

In the next few days, I will be participating in recordings for a documentary program about the Commonwealth for DR. The recordings have been postponed for a while due to the corona, but now I look forward to meeting the Greenlandic people again and reliving the magnificent nature.

The program will be broadcast later this year, and I hope you will welcome it, as was the case with the program on the Faroe Islands, which was broadcast last year.

The documentary is set to air on DR1 on May 24, 2022.

Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands Opens the Newly Restored Ceres Mill in Bovenkarspel.

On Friday, March 18, 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands officially opened the newly restored Ceres Mill in Bovenkarspel. The mill was destroyed by a fire on New Year’s Eve 2019-2020.

The Ceres Mill was built in 1849 as a flour and peeling mill. Flour is still milled for bakers and private individuals at the mill.

His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Visits the Exhibition, Hitchcock: The Brand.

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg arrived at the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg City to view the exhibition, Hitchcock: The Brand.

The exhibition centers around the brand that the late filmmaker, Alfred Hitchcock, created throughout since the beginning of his legendary career:

“As part of this exhibition, we attempt to analyze and illustrate the deliberate and extremely calculated fabrication of this “brand”, this universal public and highly lucrative image. He used a multitude of methods and systems that enabled him to establish a powerful, original, and effective brand image on par with his ambitions.

This exhibition unveils the private collection of Paul Lesch, a great enthusiast of the world of Alfred Hitchcock.”

HRH Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Visits a Reception Center for Ukrainian Refugees in Kirchberg

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg accompanied by the Minister for Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Jean Asselborn, the Mayor of Luxembourg City, Mrs. Lydie Polfer, visited the SHUK Emergency Accommodation Structure and Reception Center in Kirchberg.

The SHUK reception center was established by the Government of Luxembourg to help those fleeing Ukraine due to the war. At this time the reception center holds 250 beds. Pets are also welcomed “…[there is a] special area for them. The Administration of Veterinary Services will regularly visit the emergency accommodation structure to support the regularization of the animals...” according to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Luxembourg.

During today’s visit, His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri met with SHUK officials and toured the center. The Grand Duke also spent time meeting with various Ukrainian refugees who “…shared with him their experiences of war and exile… [he] comforted them by confirming the empathy of all the people of Luxembourg…” notes the Cour Grand-Ducale.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited Ukrainian refugees in Amsterdam. The Dutch Red Cross and the Municipality of Amsterdam have set up a transfer location/humanitarian service point at the RAI where refugees are received and where help requests from Ukrainians are provided. The Ukrainian refugees are offered a place from the RAI where they can stay for the foreseeable future.

According to RVD, upon her arrival, Queen Maxima spoke with employees of the Dutch Red Cross and the municipality of Amsterdam about starting up the location and about cooperation with other organizations in areas such as transportation and information provision. The role of the Dutch Red Cross, aid in Ukraine and neighboring countries were also discussed during her visit.

Her Majesty also met with various Ukrainian refugees who spoke about the situation in Ukraine, their journey to the Netherlands, and contact with their loved ones who have decided to stay in their homeland. Her Majesty Queen Maxima also spoke with volunteers who told about their efforts to give the refugees a warm welcome and about their experiences at the humanitarian service point at the RAI. 

Her Majesty also participated in a round table discussion with employees of the Dutch Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland, and Takecarebnb, an organization that links refugees to potential host families.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Presides Over an Investiture Ceremony at Windsor Castle

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales presided over an investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

The recipient of the Officier of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) went to author and broadcaster, Mr. Lemn Sissay. The recipients of the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) went to novelist, Miss Irenosen Iseghohi Okojie, and former Rugby Union and professional Rugby footballer, Mr.Simon Middleton to name a few.
