On the morning of Friday, January 31, 2014, Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway visited the municipality of Flatanger in Nord-Trøndelag county.
According to the newspaper, Norway Post, Their Majesties visited the “…Municipality Center in Lauvsnes and the villages Småværet and Hasvag, which were both strongly affected by the fires that started Monday evening.”

On Friday, January 31, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by Queen Paola of Belgium visited the offices of Child Focus Foundation in Brussels. Her Majesty is now Honorary President of the foundation, a position in which she recently took over from Queen Paola.

On Friday, January 31, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 5th Symposium of Qredits Microfinance Netherlands held at the Auditorium van Rabobank Nederland in Utrecht.
According to RVD, Qredits is a:
“…rural credit organization which helps new and existing entrepreneurs successfully re-start their business. Qredits does this by offering microloans up to 150,000 Euros SME lending, business tools and personal coaching. The goal is to stimulate entrepreneurship in the Netherlands…”
