On the evening of November 22, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven attended the 32nd Peter Stuyvesant Ball held inside the Grand Ballroom at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
The gala ball, organized by the Netherland-America Foundation raises money for “…scholarships and other exchange programs in the field of education…” according to RVD.

On Saturday, November 23, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Caracas, Venezuela for a one-day introductory visit.
Upon their arrival at Palacio de Miraflores Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by the President of Venezuela, Mr. Nicolás Maduro Moros, and First Lady Cilia Flores. After the inspection of the guard President Maduro Moros ushered the reigning couple inside the Palacio where they held a meeting and gifts were exchanged.
On Friday, November 22, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Bogotá, Colombia for a one-day introductory visit.
Upon their arrival at Casa de Nariño Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by the President of Colombia, Mr. Juan Manuel Santos, and First Lady Maria Rodriguez.
After the official welcoming ceremony President Santos hosted a gala luncheon in honor of Their Majesties visit to Colombia.

On Thursday, November 21, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands wrapped up their whirlwind tour of the Netherlands Antilles.
This morning in Oranjestad, on the island of Aruba, Their Majesties attended a sporting event held at the Guillermo Trinidad stadium. Afterward, Their Majesties attended a luncheon and participated in the launch of the new project entitled, Kansen voor Jongeren in de Caraïben.
The day ended with a gala reception with the governor of Aruba, Mr. Fredis Jose Refunjol.

On November 20, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands began their two-day visit of the island of Aruba.
The day began with a welcoming ceremony on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Oranjestad where hundreds of people came out to see the new king and queen of the Netherlands. Then, Their Majesties met with the governor of Aruba, Mr. Fredis Jose Refunjol, the Prime Minister of Aruba, Mr. Mike Eman, as well as with other government officials.
In the afternoon, Their Majesties participated in a discussion about the future of Aruba in San Nicolas, and in the evening attended a gala celebration at the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Heidemaatschappij (KNHM) and the ARCADIS held at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
According to RVD, the KNHM was:
“…founded in 1888 with the aim to advise and encourage the cultivation of new land, carry out irrigation and land improvement and the creation and maintenance of forests.”

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands continued their tour of the island of Curaçao.
This morning Their Majesties left the capital of Willemstad and drove to West Point located — you guessed it — on western part of the island. Anyway, the reigning couple visited a local fishing village where hundreds of people came out to see them. Thereafter, they visited the Tula Museum.
In the afternoon, Their Majesties travelled to Fort Amsterdam, on the eastern side of the island, where they visited the Fortchurch Museum, mingled with locals, and attended a reception with the governor.
