HM Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Attends a Symposium in Leiden.

MaximaOn December 3, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived at the Volkshuis in Leiden to attend a symposium, organized by the  Stichting Ovaal, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Autismecafé.   

According to RVD, Autismecafé “…offers parents of children with Autism, through themed parties, the opportunity to obtain information and help from experts and an opportunity to meet other parents who have children with Autism.”

Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. (VIDEOS)

On November 30, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands along with hundreds of Dutch citizens celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Koninkrijk der Nederlanden (Kingdom of the Netherlands).  This morning Their Majesties watched a reenactment of the historic 1813 landing of Willem Frederik (Willem I) on the beach in Scheveningen.

In the afternoon, Their Majesties accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands arrived at the Ridderzaal in Den Haag to attend the official start of the 200th anniversary of Koninkrijk der Nederlanden.  Whilst at the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights) the royal family listened to a speech by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mr. Mark Rutte.

In the evening, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands, Her Royal Highness Princess Irene and Her Royal Highness Princess Christina of the Netherlands along with other members of the royal family attended a gala evening concert held a the Circustheater in Scheveningen.

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Receives Three Special Biographies. (VIDEOS)

TheKingWAOn November 29, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands received three special biographies, published in celebration of the bicentenary year of the Koninkrijk der Nederlanden (Kingdom of the Netherlands), at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

The three biographies concerns his ancestors: Willem I, Willem II, and William III.  The books were written by three Dutch historians: Mr. Jeroen Koch (Koning Willem I: 1772-1843), Mr. Jeroen van Zanten (Koning Willem II: 1792-1849), and Mr. Dik van der Meulen (Koning Willem III: 1817-1890).

According to RVD, the authors received special permission from the former Her Majesty Queen Beatrix to have unlimited access to the Koninklijk Huisarchief (Royal Archives) to help them in their research of the three kings.

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Visits a School in Nieuwegein.

WAOn the morning of November 28, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited the adult education evening school, Prago, in Nieuwegein.  Supported by the Oranje Fonds, Prago is a school that provides basic education — reading, writing, and math — for adults who have learning or language disabilities according to RVD.

News Regarding His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. (VIDEO)

TheKingWAOn November 27, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived at the Museum voor Communicatie in Den Haag to receive the first copy of the new Koningspostzegel (King Stamp).

His Majesty also opened the Museum voor Communicatie’s new exhibition entitled, XXS Dutch Design.  The exhibition displays various stamps created by well-known Dutch artists, designers, and illustrators such as Ms. Irma Boom, Mr. Piet Paris, and Mr. Anton Corbijn to name a few.

XXS Dutch Design will be open to the public at the Museum voor Communicatie on November 28 – June 29, 2014.
