Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark Attends the Launch of a New Project in Roskilde. (VIDEO)

PrincessbenedikteOn Friday, October 3, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark, as Patron of the Alzheimerforeningen, attended opening of the new project, Erindringsdans for Demente, held at the Astershjemmet in Roskilde.

According to the official website for the Alzheimerforeningen the purpose of the “…Erindringsdans is to spread [the project] into a total of 180 nursing homes in 30 municipalities across the country.”

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Opens the Danish Meat Research Institute’s New Headquarters.

margretheiiOn September 23, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark officially opened the Danish Meat Research Institute (DMRI) new headquarters in Taastrup.

According to the newspaper, Copenhagen Post, the new DMRI headquarters:

“…will operate as a research and innovation centre for food of animal origin. It will focus on developing advanced methods and technologies for the efficient production of safe meat products, helping slaughterhouses to increase the quality of meat as well as their competitiveness.”

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Opens the Exhibition, 1814: Spillet om Danmark og Norge.

margretheiiOn September 17, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark arrived at the Nationalhistoriske Museum at Frederiksborg Slot in Hillerød to officially open the exhibition, 1814: Spillet om Danmark og Norge (1814: The drama of Denmark and Norway).

According to the official website for the Nationalhistoriske Museum this special exhibition:

“…tells the dramatic story of how Denmark lost Norway 200 years ago. In 1814, King Frederik VI was forced to give up Norway to the Swedish king, but the people of Norway acted on their own accord. They drew a new constitution and made the Danish governor, Prince Christian Frederik, king of Norway. However, Sweden had the support of powerful European countries, Sweden’s claim was honored and Christian Frederik had to abdicate.

The exhibition tells the fascinating story of Christian Frederik as chosen constitutional king and 25 years later as the last absolute king (Christian VIII) of Denmark.”

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Her Majesty Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark Attend the 2014 Dronning Ingrids Hæderslegat.

QMIIOn Monday, September 15, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended the 2014 Dronning Ingrids Hæderslegat held at the Tivolis Koncertsal (Tivoli Concert Hall) in Copenhagen.

According to the Danish royal court the Dronning Ingrids Hæderslegat are:

“…awarded to provide financial support to young artists further study and qualification. The grants were awarded this year to cellist Toke Møldrup and ballet dancer Sebastian Haynes.”

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Meets with the Crew from the Vestas Wind.

FredOn Monday, September 15, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark arrived at the Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub (KDY) in Copenhagen to meet with “…Danish sailors Nicolai Sehested and Peter Wibroe with skipper Chris Nicholson from Team Vestas Wind The team [will be participating] in the 2014 Volvo Ocean Race starting in October in Alicante, Spain…” according to the Danish royal court.
