His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Visits Scotland

On Tuesday, July 30, 2012, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales was in Caithness, Scotland for a one-day visit.  The future king began his day with a visit to Castletown where he opened the Backies two newly restored cottages funded by The Prince’s Regeneration Trust “… as part of the North Highlands Initiative” notes the BBC News.  The cottages were recently renamed “… as the Caithness Flagstone Cottages.”

Afterward, the prince visited the offices of the North Highland Initiative and Wick Harbour.  According to the Press Association, the Prince of Wales met with “…. representatives of the Harbour Authority…. The prince also met with [the] lifeboat crew who helped search for four airmen whose Tornado jets crashed earlier this month.”

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke of Edinburgh and The Princess Royal Attend Day Two of the Team and Individual Eventing, Dressage.

On July 29, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal attended day two of the Team and Individual Eventing in Dressage.  Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Mr. Peter and Autumn Philips.

Riding in today’s event, held at Greenwich Park in London, was the Princess Royal’s daughter, Ms. Zara Phillips, and her horse, High Kingdom.  The final result for Ms. Phillips  ride: 46.10.

Tomorrow, Ms. Phillips will compete the Individual Eventing: Cross Country.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Visits Olympic Park (VIDEO)

 

On Saturday, July 28, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh along with Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal visited Olympic Park.

According to the Telegraph newspaper, the royal family “… visited the top of the towering ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture…” Afterward the royal family visited “… the British section of the athletes’ village, where around 150 Team GB competitors and delegates…” who welcome her with applause and smiles.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Host a Gala Reception at Buckingham Palace. (VIDEO)

On Friday, July 27, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh hosted a gala reception at Buckingham Palace for “… Heads of State and Government attending the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.”

The royal guests included Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales, Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and many others.

Government Heads of State included the Russian Prime Minister, Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, the President of Brazil, Ms. Dilma Rousseff, the Governor General of Canada, Mr. David Johnston, the President of Mongolia, Mr. Elbegdorj Tsakhia, the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama (who looks amazing, by the way) and a dozens of others.

Random Royal News Regarding Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal.

On July 26, 2012, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales hosted a reception at Clarence House for the delegates of the British Government’s Global Investment Conference.

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal attended a pre-Olympic reception at Mansion House hosted by the “… Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Mayor of Greater London.” Afterward, the Princess Royal attended yet another International Olympic Committee Session held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.  Also in attendance was His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.
