On the evening of October 20, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh hosted a gala state banquet at Buckingham Palace in London in honor of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, and Madame Peng Liyuan’s visit to Britain.
Royal guests attending tonight’s glamorous gala included His Royal Highness The Duke of York, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
On the afternoon of October 20, 2015, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall welcomed the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping and his wife, Madame Peng Liyuan, to Clarence House in London, England.
During today’s visit President Jinping and Madame Liyuan “…view[ed] a display by The Prince’s School for Traditional Arts and met with [students from the school]…” according to Clarence House. Thereafter, the prince and the duchess hosted afternoon tea in honor of President Jinping’s visit to England.
On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh welcomed the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, and his wife, Madame Peng Liyuan, to London, England.
According to the British royal court the day officially began at the:
“…Royal Pavilion on Horse Guards Parade. Presentations [were] made, the Guard of Honour gave a Royal Salute and the Chinese National Anthem were played. The President, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, inspected the Guard of Honour. Afterwards, the President and Madame Peng joined The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh for a state carriage procession along The Mall to Buckingham Palace.
Following a private lunch at Buckingham Palace, given by The Queen, Her Majesty invited the President and Madame Peng to view an exhibition in the Picture Gallery of items from the Royal Collection relating to China.
In the afternoon the President and Madame Peng visited the Palace of Westminster, where they were welcomed by the Speaker of the House of Commons and the Lord Speaker. The President will delivered an Address in the Royal Gallery to Members of Houses of Parliament and other guests.”
On Thursday, October 15, 2015, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge officially opened the new £2 million School of Pythagoras Archive Centre at the prestigious St. John’s College at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England.

On October 15, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England, to officially open the university’s new School of Veterinary Medicine.
According to the official website for the university during today’s visit Her Majesty and the duke:
“…toured the £45 million School and visited the Large Animal Clinical Skills Building, where they met students undertaking equine examinations and working with livestock. The Royal Party also viewed a demonstration in the Biomechanics Laboratory, where they met Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, the ‘Supervet’, and dogs that have benefitted from prosthetic limb surgery. Finally, they observed teaching sessions in the Clinical Skills Laboratory, where they met staff and students undertaking clinical skills training.
After the tour, The Queen, The Duke and assembled guests participated in a short ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new teaching facilities, at which Her Majesty unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.”
