On December 1, 2016, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand officially became His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun of Thailand, the 10th king of Thailand’s Chakri Dynasty (he will also be known as His Majesty King Rama X) in a succession ceremony at Dusit Palace in Bangkok, Thailand.
His Majesty formally “…accepted an invitation from parliament on Thursday to succeed his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who died in October…” according to Reuters.
