On Friday, November 7, 2014, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Singapore for a three-day visit. This afternoon the sovereign prince met with President of the Republic Singapore, Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, at the Istana (official residence of the President).
During their meeting Prince Albert II and President Tan Keng Yam “…reaffirmed the warm bilateral relations between Singapore and Monaco. They also exchanged views on environmental challenges faced by city-states such as Singapore and Monaco, and looked forward to strengthening business ties and cooperation in areas of mutual interest…” according to a press release.
Tomorrow, the sovereign prince will tour the SBM offshore facilities as well as visit the premises of the Interpol Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI).

On the afternoon of Friday, November 7, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark inaugurated the SOSU Nord and Adult Education Center building in Aalborg.
According to the Danish newspaper, Nordjskye, the future king of Denmark accompanied by Denmark’s Minister of Education, Ms. Christine Edda Antorini, were given a tour of the new 25,000 square-foot building as well as met with staff and students. The newspaper also notes that during today’s opening Crown Prince Frederik hugged “…a remote controlled robot doll that aims to relieve symptoms in elderly patients with Dementia.”
On Friday, November 7, 2014, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark arrived at Aarhus Universitet in Aarhus to participate in the opening of the 2014 Aarhus Symposium held under the theme, Global Challenges: Leadership and Strategy.
According to the official website for today’s event the symposium:
“…takes a forward-looking perspective on global challenges, as a wide range of leaders of today will share their insights and knowledge regarding leadership and strategy. The focus is on how to efficiently manage the risks and opportunities that arise from navigating on the global scene and how leadership and strategy can be effective drivers in the effort of overcoming global challenges. Global and local issues are constantly challenging the leaders of today. Difficult times call for talented and determined leaders who know which decisions to make – and when. Therefore, leadership skills and an effective well-implemented strategy are some of the most important keys to success and progress.”
On Thursday, November 6, 2014, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived at the Ridderzaal in Den Haag to attend the Nationale Iconen 2014 conference and awards presentation. According to AFP, four Dutch “…innovative projects were handed out and each will receive support from the Dutch government to present their inventions internationally.”
Security was on high alert this morning, Friday, November 7, 2014, as His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium visited the Musée Juif de Belgique (Jewish Museum of Belgium) in Brussels.
Last May 24, a crazed gunman from Marseille, France, stormed the Musée Juif de Belgique killing four innocent people. In a statement released by the Belgian royal court immediately after the horrific event, His Majesty noted that he was “…shocked to learn that the shooting took place this afternoon at the Jewish Museum of Belgium. He extends his condolences to the relatives of the victims. The King is outraged by this act of violence that affects very much the Jewish community “
During today’s visit His Majesty met with employees and was given a tour of the museum’s various exhibitions by its president, Mr. Philippe Blondin.
On the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2014, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II hosted the Recovery Pathway Reception at Buckingham Palace in London, England.
The reception was held “…to recognize military and civilian professionals who have helped British servicemen and women that have suffered physical or psychological injuries to return to duty or make a successful transition in to civilian life.”
Last month — October 24, 2014, to be exact — His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Marine Science from the Università degli Studi di Genova (University of Genoa) in Genoa, Italy.
The sovereign prince received his Honorary Doctorate during the Lectio Magistralis (a scholarly lecture) entitled, The Mediterranean and its Environmental Conditions Between Hopes and Concerns.
