On Thursday, September 11, 2014, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium arrived at the Palais des Academies in Brussels to attend the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Academia Belgica.
During today’s event His Majesty presided over the opening of the Academia Belgica’s two-day conference held under the theme, Renovatio, Inventio, Absentia Imperii: From the Roman Empire to Contemporary Imperialism. The event was organized by the Academia Belgica (Rome), with the support of the Belgian Historical Institute in Rome, and the Princess Marie-José Foundation.
On Thursday, September 11, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark arrived at the Nordatlantens Brygge in Copenhagen to officially open the Ældre Sagens Symposium om Ensomhed: Fællesskab som Folkesag (Dane Age’s Symposium on Loneliness: Community as a National Cause).

On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan arrived at the Zaha Center in Amman to attend “…part of a national consultation on children’s rights that gathered professionals and youth to review and discuss Jordan’s progress in promoting and fulfilling the rights of children in the country…” according to Petra News.
On September 10, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the Borgerstein Association for the Elderly and Disabled in Sint-Katelijne-Waver.
According to the Belgian royal court, for over 40 years the Borgerstein Association “…has specialized in quality care and includes three departments: aged care, disability care and social work.”
On the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2014, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the opening of the Mental Health Foundation Conference on Inclusion of Mentally Vulnerable Young People held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Copenhagen.
Thereafter, future queen of Denmark participated in a meeting with members of the Mary Fonden held at Frederik VIII’s Palace, again, in Copenhagen.
