TSHs Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend a Charity Ball.

palaisprincierOn Friday, May 10, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 2013 White Feather Foundation Charity Ball in Beausoleil, France.  The purpose of the foundation, run Princess Charlene’s close friend, Mr. Julian Lennon, is to:

“…embrace[s] environmental and humanitarian issues and in conjunction with partners from around the world helps to raise funds for the betterment of all life, and to honour those who have truly made a difference.”

TMs King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Visit Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (VIDEO)

On Friday, May 10, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a brief visit.  This morning the reigning couple arrived at City Hall where Mayor Michael Nutter gave a lovely speech about the historical ties between Philadelphia and Sweden.

Afterward, Their Majesties visited the American Swedish Historical Museum, the Liberty Bell and of course Independence Hall located at the Independence National Historical Park.

Tomorrow, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will arrive in Wilmington, Delaware to celebrate the 375th anniversary of the Kalmar Nyckel’s arrival in Delaware and the first Swedish settlement in the USA.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Attend Day Three of the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

QEII and DOE 2012On May 10, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall attended day three of the Royal Windsor Horse Show held at Windsor Home Park.  On Wednesday Her Majesty attended the opening of the show which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

HRH Prince Harry of Wales Continues His Visit to Washington, D.C. (VIDEOS)

His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales continued his tour to Washington D.C., this morning with a visit to the Arlington National Cemetery.  Whilst there the prince placed a wreath “…on the grave of one of the American soldiers who died in Afghanistan and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier…” according to the BBC News.

Afterward, Prince Harry arrived at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he met with staff and patients “…undergoing physical therapy and learned about the latest developments in prosthetics.”

HRH The Prince of Wales Opens a New Exhibition at Houghton Hall. (VIDEO)

PoWOn Thursday, May 9, 2013, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales arrived at Houghton Hall, King’s Lynn, in Norfolk to open the spectacular exhibition, Houghton Revisited: Masterpieces from the Hermitage.

This great exhibition display’s the:

“…magnificent art collection [by] Great Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, sold to Catherine the Great to adorn the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, will be reassembled in its spectacular original setting of Houghton Hall for the first time in over 200 years.

Houghton Revisited runs from 17 May-29 September 2013 and is a unique opportunity to view one of the most famous art collections of eighteenth-century Europe. The display will include paintings from the English, French, Italian, Flemish and Spanish schools, with masterpieces by Van Dyck, Poussin, Albani, Rubens, Rembrandt, Velazquez and Murillo.

As well as hosting the Houghton Revisited exhibition in 2013, Houghton’s unique history and interior, the award-winning five acre garden, the contemporary sculpture park, playground and restaurant, offer something of interest to everyone, and make for a great day out for all the family.”

TIRHs Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz Attend the Opening of the 32nd Edition of the Jeux Nationaux Special Olympics.

belgiumOn Wednesday, May 8, 2013, Their Imperial and Royal Highnesses Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este attended the opening of the 32nd Edition of the Jeux Nationaux Special Olympics in Ghent.

According to the Belgian royal court and the newspaper, L’Avenir over:

“….3,700 athletes will participate in 19 sports events over the next three days. Unlike the Paralympics, which are intended for elite athletes with a physical disability, “National Special Olympics” are open to athletes of all levels with an intellectual disability. These athletes are supervised daily by 1,200 coaches and many volunteers.”
