News Regarding TMs King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium.

VIBOn the morning of June 12, 2013, His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium arrived at the Technology Park in Zwijnaarde to tour the biotech company, Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie (VIB).  The purpose of his visit was to learn about the “…recent advances in biotechnology and workings of the VIB…” according to the Belgian royal court.

Meanwhile in Laeken, Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium attended the inauguration of the newly restored Cressonnière.  According to the Belgian royal court the location was “…closed in 2007, redeveloped with a path along the Van Praet Avenue…”  Click here to view photos.

Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden Unveils a New Portrait at Gripsholms Slott. (VIDEO)

swedenOn June 11, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived at Gripsholms Slott in Mariefred to unveil a new portrait by Swedish artist, Mr. Urban Larsson, of Her Majesty Queen Silvia.

The new oil painting will be on permanent display at the Statens Porträttsamling at Gripsholms Slott.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Rothesay: The New Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen. (VIDEO)

camillaOn Monday, June 10, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Rothesay was installed as the 11th chancellor of the University of Aberdeen.  Per the University of Aberdeen:

“The Installation Ceremony is similar to a graduation ceremony and the first role for the new Chancellor was to bestow honorary degrees on six outstanding individuals for their academic and personal achievements.”

News Regarding Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex.

HRH_Sophie,_Countess_of_WessexHer Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex arrived at the London Clinic this afternoon to visit her father-in-law, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.  The 92-year-old duke was admitted to the hospital last week for an “…exploratory operation of the abdomen.”

This evening, according to Buckingham Palace, the lovely countess attended the opening night of the Art Antiques London held at the Albert Memorial West Lawn, Kensington Gardens, in London.  During tonight’s event funds were raised for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Visits the Buurtmoestuin Het Groene Woud.

WAKingOn Tuesday, June 11, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived in Tilburg to visit the Buurtmoestuin Het Groene Woud (Neighborhood Vegetable Garden).

According to RVD, the Buurtmoestuin Het Groene Woud was developed by local residents in 2012 and is a “…meeting place where residents, young and old, can garden, cook, and make crafts together.”
