Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the Mare Nostrum Swimming Competition. Plus, Other News (VIDEO)

On June 9, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were at the Stade Louis II to attend the 2012 Mare Nostrum swimming competition in Monaco. During the event the princess had a chance to mingle as well as welcome various competitors including members from the South African swim team.

And, finally, it was announced by the Palais Princier that the recent airing of the show, Thalassa, with Prince Albert II “…reached the best ratings of the season with 2 million 600,000 viewers 12% of audience share.”  In other words, the show was a hit with viewers. Congrats!   🙂

Any way, as I mentioned a couple of days ago, if you receive the channel, TV5 Monde, here in the United States there is a chance the show with the sovereign prince will air on a later date.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Leaves King Edward VII Hospital (VIDEO)

On Saturday, June 9, 2012, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was released from King Edward VII Hospital in London.  As you may know by now the duke was admitted to the hospital earlier this week for a bladder infection.

As he left the hospital the duke looked a tad frail, but nonetheless in good spirits. Tomorrow, he will celebrate his 91st birthday.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry of Wales Visit The Duke of Edinburgh in the Hospital. Plus, News Regarding Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands.

On June 8, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry of Wales were at the King Edward VII Hospital to visit the Duke of Edinburgh.  As you may know by now the 90-year-old amazing duke was admitted earlier this week for a bladder infection.

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at Bronovo hospital Den Haag to open the new Mother-Kindcentrum maternity ward.  The new modern center offers better care and comfort for mothers and their newborns as well as more privacy for their families according to RVD.

Begins at the :45 mark with other news regarding the sovereign prince.

Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco along with Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover attended the Fête Dieu on June 7, 2012.

The princely couple and Princess Caroline witnessed the “…arrival of the procession in the Cour d’Honneur and the blessing of Monsignor Bernard Barsi.”  The Fête Dieu took place in the Galerie Hercule at the Palais Princier de Monaco.

Also, it was announced by the Palais Princier that Prince Albert II will “… participate in the program, Thalassa, tonight on France 3… it will be largely devoted to the Principality of Monaco, and it will highlight the commitment of the Prince in the protection of the seas and oceans.”

The show also airs on TV5 Monde here in the United States, and it will most likely air on a later date.  So, if you receive the channel on cable why not check out the show with the sovereign prince?  It should be interesting.   🙂

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Opens the 10th Edition of Mission Olympic in Amsterdam (VIDEO)

On June 8, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje was at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam to open the 10th Edition of the School Mission Olympic Finals.

According to RVD, the Mission Olympic is:

… a school sports competition where 315 high schools in Netherlands to participate. After the opening competition over 5,000 finalists in eighteen different sports categories at various sports venues in Amsterdam compete for the National Championship for secondary schools.

Royal News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.(VIDEO)

On June 6, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was in Gouderak to visit the newly rebuilt neighborhood of Zellingwijk.

According to RVD, the neighborhood “…had to be demolished in the mid-1980s due to the presence of toxic waste in the soil.”

Ewww.

All is well in the area now, thankfully, with redevelopment and reorganization completed in 2009.  Finally, in early 2012, housing construction was completed and everyone is happy.
