On Sunday, July 29, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended day two of the swimming preliminaries at the Aquatic Center in London. Accompanying the princely couple were the sovereign prince’s cousin, Mr. Chris La Vine and the Secretary General of the Monaco International Committee, Ms. Yvette Lambin-Berti.
The princely couple cheered on swimmer, Ms. Angélique Trinquier, of Team Monaco who was competing in the Women’s 100m Backstroke. Her final time: 1:10.79. The prince and princess also watched the final of the Men’s 100m Breaststroke. Mr. Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa won the gold medal and set a world record. His time: 58.46.
