Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Visits the Sjoel Elburg (VIDEOS)

On June 13, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the Sjoel Elburg to attend the opening of a new building.

According to RVD, the new building:

…contains an exhibition hall and an educational space.  The new building also offers visitors a chance to watch presentations and information about the social, economic and cultural history of the Jewish community in Elburg.

Royal News Regarding Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco (VIDEOS)

On Tuesday, June 12, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco visited the 8th Edition of Monacology held on the Quai Antoine I.  The purpose of the event is to educate the Monégasque youth about the environment.  Monocology is organized in collaboration with the Mediterranean Institute of Studies and Sustainable Development and Star’s N’ Bars with the assistance of Mr. Olivier Arnould.

In the evening, the princely couple attended a gala dinner, organized by Ambassadors Club of Monaco, to honor actor, Sir Roger Moore.  During the gala event, held at the Hôtel de Paris, Mr. Moore received the Goodwill Ambassador diploma for basically being super awesome.   🙂

And, finally, during a press conference yesterday afternoon Prince Albert II “… discussed the possibility of restarting the land extension plans he halted in 2008.”  It seems the reason the sovereign prince is considering expanding the principality is due to population growth and so forth.  Click here  for more information (in English).

Members of the Imperial Family of Japan Attend a Ceremony for the Late Prince Tomohito of Mikasa

On June 13, 2012, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan along with His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito as well as other members of the Imperial family attended a “… ritual ceremony…” at the Akasaka Imperial Compound for the late Prince Tomohito of Mikasa.

The Japan Times via the Imperial Household Agency reports that the funeral costs for the last prince is estimated at, “… ¥189 million, ¥131 million of which will be disbursed from the government’s reserve funds for fiscal 2012.”

The rest of the cost will come from the “… fiscal 2013 budget, which starts next April and includes the ¥69 million for the main “renso-no-gi” ceremony and ¥88 million for building the tomb.”

The late Prince Tomohito, cousin of Emperor Akihito, passed away last Wednesday.  He was 66 years old.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Visits the Zwolle Muzerie Education Centre. (VIDEO)

On June 12, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Zwolle Muzerie Education Centre to listen to students participating in the music project, Hoor Eens Wat Ik Kan!

The project is part of the program, Children Make Music, supported by the Oranje Fund and the Fund for Cultural Participation according to RVD.
