His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Attends the 2012 Imagina Event

Recently, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2012 Imagina: The European 3D Simulation and Virtual Technology Event held at the Grimaldi Forum.

The purpose of this international event is to:

…showcase the many fields across which 3D visualisation and simulation technologies are applied, promoting them to decision makers and technical experts, presenting pioneering initiatives, encouraging participants to share their experiences and helping experienced users to transfer their skills to those who want to develop them.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Receives the Machiavelliprijs Award (VIDEO)

On February 8, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the Nieuwspoort Press Center in Den Haag where she received the Machiavelliprijs Award from the Machiavellprijs Foundation president, Marja Wagenaar.

The princess received the award for her “…work as the Princess of the Netherlands.  Furthermore, for her ability to successfully communicate to a wider audience as well as to connect with various groups within the Dutch population.”

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall Celebrate the Bicentenary of the Birth of Charles Dickens (VIDEOS)

On February 7, 2012, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall attended a ceremony at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens.  According to the British newspaper, Telegraph, the “…congregation at Westminster Abbey included the largest ever gathering of descendants of the Victorian novelist as well as representatives from the worlds of literature, film, theatre and the media.” 

During the ceremony the Prince of Wales laid a wreath at Dickens’ grave in Poets’ Corner, listened to a speech by the Dean of Westminster Abbey, the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall, as well as listened to  British actor, Ralph Fiennes read “…an extract…” from the novel, Bleak House.

Prior to the ceremony, the royal couple visited the Charles Dickens Museum in London where they listened to the American actress, Gillian Anderson, read various works by the legendary author.

The Earl of Wessex Tours Lancashire: Day Two (VIDEO)

The Earl of Wessex continued his tour of Lancashire on February 7, 2012 and this afternoon he was in the area known as Blackpool.

First, the youngest son of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Hornby St. Margaret’s Church of England Primary School.  From there the Earl toured the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team Training and Vehicle Base.

Afterward, the Earl of Wessex visited Nickelodeon Land in Blackpool, Lancashire.  Whilst there he posed for photos alongside Sponge Bob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer — don’t laugh — and then unveiled a plaque reminding everyone, who visits Nickelodeon Land, that he was actually there.

Finally, the day ended with a visit to the University Centre at Blackpool and the Fylde College to mingle with the students as well as staff.

Random Royal News Regarding Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain as well as H.R.H. Prince Felipe of Asturias.

On February 7, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience at Zarzuela Palace with Spanish companies participating in the project of the railway line of high-speed “La Meca-Medina”.  Click here to view photos.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain participated in the opening of the Vitoria-Gasteiz European Green Capital 2012  held at the Montehermoso Palace in Vitoria, Spain.  Attendees included the Spanish Environment Minister, Mr. Miguel Arias Cañete as well as 300+ prominent business and social leaders.

Finally, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the 20th Edition of the 2012 Premios Fundación Círculo de Economía in Madrid, Spain.  During the event the heir to the Spanish throne gave a speech regarding the world economic crisis, the importance of education, and more.  Click here to view photos.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the Opening of ‘Westland on Stage’ (VIDEO)

On February 7, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was in Poeldijk to participate in the opening of the 3rd Edition of the “… professional orientation fair…” entitled, Westland on Stage.

Today’s event brought together students and professionals whereupon the students can ask the professionals questions about their jobs.  In other words, “… the goal is to support and help the students make an informed career choice.”
