Random Royal News Regarding His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Duke of Bragança

On January 24, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco held an audience with the Mayor of Rome, Mr. Gianni Alemanno at the Palais Princier de Monaco.  The sovereign prince and his guest participated in a luncheon meeting whereupon they discussed… oh I don’t know… business I suppose.  🙂

Meanwhile, Dom Duarte Duke of Bragança (Portugal) attended a gala dinner held at the Hotel Bom Jesus de Braga.  During the evening the Duke and attendees discussed “… regional and local production as well as trade.”

His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia Celebrates the 300th Anniversary of King Friedrich II (VIDEO)

On January 24, 2012, His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia celebrated the 300th anniversary of the late King Friedrich II in Potsdam, Germany.

The day began with a wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of King Friedrich II at Sanssouci Palace.  Guests at the event included the prince along with Brandenburg Minister-President Matthias Platzeck, the mayor of Potsdam, Jann Jakobs and many others.  Afterward there was a reception, concert as well as lecture at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner for the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the City Hall of Den Haag Atrium last night to attend the 50th anniversary of the American Chamber of Commerce in the  Netherlands. Also in attendance were Mr. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands as well as local dignitaries.

According to the official site for the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands was established in 1961 and is:

…a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, voluntary organization of companies and individuals who invest in and trade between the United States of America and the Netherlands.

The Chamber seeks to further the development of commerce between the United States of America and the Netherlands. AmCham Netherlands encourages and facilitates the transaction of business between both countries and promotes the interests of its members in matters of trade and investment. source

Royal Exhibitions 2012

If you happen to live or plan on visiting Europe in the coming months there are several fantastic royal exhibits that are about to open in Denmark, Germany and England.

At Rosenborg Slot in Denmark the royal jewels exhibition entitled, Pearls: A Royal Splendor, Modern Design, begins on February 11 – May 28, 2012.  According to the official website for the Royal Danish Collections this exhibit will:

…inform you about what a pearl actually is and introduce you to Akoya, Tahitian, and South Sea pearls. The exhibition provides, on the one hand, cultural historical insight through historical artefacts and ornaments, and on the other shows new, unique, creative ideas for pearl creations. source

In Potsdam, Germany there is an exhibit dedicated to the late King Friedrich II entitled, Friedrich der Große.  This exhibition, held at the Neues Palais and Sanssouci Park, begins on April 28 – October 28, 2012.  To learn more about this exhibition please  click here. 

And finally, in Nottinghamshire, England the exhibition, Monarchy: Icons and Imagery of Royalty, will go on display at the Southwell Minster.  The exhibit begins on May 19-June 17, 2012.  Click here for more information.

Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco Visits Milan, Italy

On January 21, 2012, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco was seen in Milan, Italy shopping with friends.  While the princess was in the lovely city, Prince Albert II of Monaco was in St. Moritz for a brief period then headed on over to Austria to watch Team Monaco compete in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic games.  You can read more about it here.

His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia to Celebrate the 300th Anniversary of King Friedrich II in Berlin.

According to the German newspaper, Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten, His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia will celebrate the late King Friedrich II’s birthday to be held at the  Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, Germany on January 24, 2012.  Click here for more information and here. (in German) TRC

Random Royal News Regarding H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Duke and Duchess of Vendôme, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

On Friday, January 20, 2012, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark was in Innsbruck, Austria to attend the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games.  The heir to the Danish throne was there to support the Danish team participating in the men’s speed skating competition.

Meanwhile, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was in St. Moritz to participate in the 2012 Historic Bobsleigh Race.  Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to bad weather.  When asked about his lovely wife, Princess Charlene, the prince noted that she was in Milan, Italy on business as well as to do a little shopping.  Click here to view photos.  

On January 22, 2012, the prince was in Patscherkofel, Austria where he attended the Two-Women Bobsleigh Race, as part of the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games, held at the Olympic Sliding Centre.  Click here to view photos.  Prince Albert also attended the Two-Men Bobsleigh Race when Monégasques, Rudy Rinaldi and  Jeremy Torre, won the bronze medal for Team Monaco.

During yesterday’s memorial Mass for the late King Louis XVI at the L’église Saint Germain l’Auxerrois in Paris, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Vendôme confirmed that the Duchess will give birth at any moment.  This will be the couple’s second child.  Click here for more information.

On January 19, 2012, the lovely Princess Clotilde of Venice and Piedmont attended L’Uomo Vogue magazine’s exhibition entitled, Covers, held at Sotheby’s in Paris, France.  Click here to view photos.

And, finally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on holiday on the island of Mustique in the Caribbean.  Joining the royal couple are the Duchess’s parents, Carole and Mike Middleton.   Apparently, this family getaway has caused a bit of an uproar… click here for more information. TRC
