As you may have heard by now there were some nasty and otherwise disgusting rumors spread around the world via the French newspaper, L’Express, as well as on various royal discussion forums days before the princely wedding regarding the status of the princess’s relationship with H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. More specifically the nasty rumor was: She was trying to escape Monaco because the prince allegedly cheated on her and that there was another illegitimate kid running around (or some crap like that.)
Anyway, this morning — July 1, 2011 — H.S.H. Princess Charlene spoke out for the first time when she was getting ready for her civil wedding to Prince Albert II:
It is a shame that those rumors came at such a bad time, but I think they were timed to sabotage such a happy occasion. They are categorical lies. I won’t dignify them with any response other than to say that the photographs of me and Albert in love and getting married will speak louder than any vicious gossip and empty rumors.
Word. Sing it sister! There are many people who have got your back!
Nevertheless, the princess is still keeping her head high, smiling, and is looking forward to the religious ceremony tomorrow late afternoon at the Palais Princier de Monaco courtyard.

Jaysus…she’s not even past the wedding and the rumors are already floating around? Give it a rest people. If she was going to “escape”, it would have happened long ago. I guess L’Express needed to sell some issues.
The rumors began days before the civil wedding by a certain blog and several royal discussion forums which are not exactly fond of Princess Charlene. Then, L’Express, a serious and reputable French newspaper, trolled these above mentioned places and ran a story about it believing their inane stories, and claiming they have the sources to back it up.
Right.
In the end, I believe Princess Charlene will continue to do well. Basically, she’s a fierce chica! 🙂
I hate it when journalists troll boards. It just proves that:
1. They aren’t doing their work
2. They are pathetic if they believe what random people are writing on those boards.
I’m not a Charlene-sugar, but I’m also not seeing whatever it is that those who like to bash her are supposedly seeing. She seems pretty low-key to me, even with the major plastic surgery overhaul. After watching the video of their civil ceremony, I just don’t see anything fake about her personality. I don’t care for Albert, but even I couldn’t help but notice that he seemed to be happy during the wedding. Good for them. I hope their marriage is a happy one.
I don’t understand the intense vitriol either. I really don’t.
The reputable journalists and several residents of Monaco that I have been talking to, via email, have nothing but kind things to say about Princess Charlene… and there comments were off record.
Like you, I do wish the prince and princess a happy marriage… and who wouldn’t? I wish any newly married couple a long and happy life together. 🙂
Wel well well!! Prince Albert and Charlene threw it all in the face of those horrible, despicable journos who went on this attack of Albert’s credibility, how sad it is to do this to anyone so much in love. They will pay for it anyway, as no one want to listen to lies. So all I can say, once again, Charlene has pertrayed herself as a lady and he can be very proud of her and he said so too. Is the best thing that ever happened to the Prince, she is so humble and Cinderella like in everything she says and does, they are a wonderful couple. I cannot for the life of me see why they had to do this to them, God bless you both for being soo strong and ignoring it all.
