Infante Dom Dinis de Bragança, Duque do Porto, Announces Engagement to Countess Anna Schaffgotsch, Casa Real Portuguesa Confirms

In Sintra, Casa Real Portuguesa announced the engagement of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Bragança’s youngest son, His Highness Infante Dom Dinis de Bragança, Duque do Porto, to Countess Anna Schaffgotsch von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein, Baroness of Trachenberg.

According to the official announcement, Infante Dom Dinis and Countess Anna became engaged in Lisbon earlier this month. The Infante later informed the Duke and Duchess of Bragança, together with other close members of his family.

Infante Dom Dinis de Bragança was born in Lisbon on November 25th, 1999, and is the youngest child of Their Royal Highnesses Duarte Pio, Duke of Bragança, and Isabel de Herédia, Duchess of Bragança. As Duque do Porto, he is a member of the Royal House of Bragança, Portugal’s former reigning royal dynasty.

According to his official biography, Infante Dom Dinis is a student of Political Science and International Relations, with an academic focus on European Studies and Foreign Affairs. His academic background includes studies in Social Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, followed by studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, reflecting a strong interest in international relations and European public policy.

Professionally, Infante Dom Dinis was a co-founder and partner of Caravela Consulting, where he provided strategic consultancy services to public and private institutions. His work focused primarily on international trade, investment, institutional relations, and public policy, while also contributing to client management and the development of international partnerships.

The Infante has also completed internships with international organizations and at the European Parliament, participating in projects related to international cooperation, sustainable development, legislative affairs, and the preparation of funding proposals. These appointments provided him with experience working alongside governmental institutions and multilateral organizations in an international environment.

Infante Dom Dinis is fluent in Portuguese and English and also possesses knowledge of French, Spanish, and Italian.

Countess Anna Schaffgotsch von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein, Baroness of Trachenberg, was born in Vienna, Austria, on February 17th, 2002. She is the daughter of Marie and Maximilian, Count and Countess Schaffgotsch von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein, Barons of Trachenberg, and has three siblings.

The Countess earned a degree in Economics and Social Sciences from Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. She later completed certifications in Real Estate Management and Healthcare Management and is currently specializing in education. According to her official biography, she will continue her studies in Comparative Education at University College London.

Her professional experience includes administrative appointments as an Office Assistant and Personal Assistant at the Viennese Children’s Theatre, where she gained experience in communications, research, accounting, event management, social media, and administrative operations. She has also contributed to European projects focused on education and sustainability.

Alongside her professional work, Countess Anna has extensive experience working with children and young people through summer camps, private childcare, and volunteer initiatives supporting people with disabilities in Romania. According to the official biography, these experiences strengthened her leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The Countess is fluent in German, English, and Italian, and continues to expand her linguistic studies. She is currently undertaking an internship with the education programme of the Lisbon Project Association in Lisbon.
