Well, the award season is officially upon us and to kick start the season off are the Golden Globes.
Early this morning, and I mean freaking early this morning, the announcements were made in Hollywood, CA. Leading the pack was the movie A King’s Speech about HM King George VI speech impediment and the man who helped him overcome his disability (if that is the right word to use.)
The story of King George VI of Britain, his impromptu ascension to the throne and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch become worthy of it.
The film was nominated for Best Film (Drama).
The cast was also nominated and they are:
Colin Firth nominated for Best Actor in a Drama.
Helena Bonham Carter nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama.
Geoffrey Rush nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
Tom Hooper nominated for Best Director (Drama)
David Seidler nominated for Best Original Screenplay (Drama)
Best Original Score (Drama)
The Golden Globes Awards ceremony will be held on January 1, 2010 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Ricky Gervais will host.
If you haven’t seen this film… SEE IT! The film is absolutely amazing, and if you live in Los Angeles see this film at the Arclight. Why? Because it is the best movie house to see a flick.
