(VIDEO) Members of the Swedish Royal Family Celebrate National Day 2022.

On Monday, June 6, 2022, members of the Swedish royal family celebrated National Day in Stockholm.

The day began with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Estelle of Sweden and His Royal Highness Prince Oscar of Sweden opening the Kungliga Slottet in Stockholm.

With the opening of the palace, tourists were now able to visit the Logården (Royal Palace Garden) and the Bernadotte Library, which is usually closed to visitors.

Meanwhile, in the outer courtyard of the palace, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden attended the High Guard Relief ceremony. During the ceremony, the Life Guards’ Dragon Music Corps performed a “…figurative music program…” according to the Swedish royal court.

In the town of Olofström in the municipality of Blekinge, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden celebrated National Day with the local people.

The day began with a visit to the Volvo Cars factory where they were informed about the daily ongoings of the famous Swedish car company and were given a tour of the factory.

Thereafter, Their Majesties visited Holje Park where they joined hundreds of people celebrating National Day. During the celebration, His Majesty handed over banners to the “…local associations and organizations…” and gave a speech in which he said:

“Sweden is a country with a rich history and a promising future. Let us take advantage of both, with common forces. And let us celebrate our country, our home in the world, today on Sweden’s national day!”

In the late afternoon, members of the Swedish royal family attended a gala concert and show in Skansen.

Members of the Swedish Royal Family Participate in a Meeting with Aid Organizations Working in Ukraine.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia of Sweden participated in a meeting with various aid organizations working in Ukraine.

According to the Swedish royal court, the meeting was:

“…held on the King and Queen’s initiative. [The goal of the meeting] was to contribute through the exchange of experience and collaboration to Swedish aid efforts to Ukraine strengthen children’s security and protection. Representatives from 22 organizations spoke about their activities in Ukraine and its neighboring countries and what the needs look like on the ground. Particular emphasis was placed on the vulnerable situation of children – both in war-torn Ukraine, during the flight in or out of the country and on the ground in the countries of arrival.”

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Attend a Meeting with Swedish Migration Board.

On the afternoon of Thursday, March 10, 2022, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden participated in a meeting with the Swedish Migration Agency’s general director, Mr. Mikael Ribbenvik, at the Kungliga slottet (royal palace) in Stockholm.

During the meeting, Mr. Ribbenvik explained how the Swedish Migration Agency is working in the light of developments in Ukraine. The agency is “…preparing, among other things, to increase the number of accommodation places that can be used by Ukrainian refugees…” according to a press release via the Swedish royal court.

Members of the Swedish Royal Family Attend a Prayer for Peace Ceremony in Stockholm.

On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden attended a Prayer for Peace for Ukraine ceremony at the Slottskyrkan (royal chapel) in Stockholm.

The ceremony was presided over by the Swedish royal court pastor and chaplain to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, Michael Bjerkhagen.
