H.R.H. Princess Claire of Belgium Speaks Out About the Recent Accusations Against her Husband, Prince Laurent. (VIDEO)

This afternoon in Brussels, Belgium H.R.H. Prince Laurent opened a shelter for the homeless and their pets. By the prince’s side was H.R.H. Princess Claire.  During a brief press conference the princess spoke out about the recent documentary that aired on the Belgian television network, RTBF, accusing Prince Laurent of domestic violence as well as just being a general pain in the ass.

While the prince was speaking the princess intervened and said, “I think that’s enough…”  She added that the insinuations are completely false.  Moreover, that her husband and three children were deeply hurt by the documentary as well as the myriad of other stories swirling around the press regarding her husband who looks like Peter Griffin from the show, Family Guy.  Click the link below to watch the video.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco Gives a Speech During the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP17) in Durban, South Africa

On December 6, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco was in the presence of several heads of state, heads of government, and ministers during the inauguration of the High Level Segment of the United Nations Climate Change conference (COP17) in Durban, South Africa. The prince gave a speech during today’s event regarding the environment and climate change.

H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in Den Haag

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, on Tuesday December 6, 2011 presented a banner to the Military Administration Corps of the Army at the Parliament Buildings in Den Haag.  The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Mr. JSJ Hillen and Chief of Defence, General PJM van Uhm. The banner also symbolizes the connection with the Dutch royal family and the solidarity within the military corps.

On December 6, 2011, H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg received fan audience with General Stéphane Abrial, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (ACT) of the Treaty Organization (NATO) at the Grand Ducal Palace.

Yesterday, H.R.H. Hereditary Grand Duke the company, Ceratizit.  During his visit the heir to the grand ducal throne toured the production site which produces industrial electronics, automotive stuff and petroleum.  To view photos please click here.

H.M. Queen Sofia of Spain Attends the Opening of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Madrid

On December 5, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain attended the opening of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Madrid.  Also, in attendance was First Lady of the Russian Federation, Her Excellency Svetlana Medvedeva, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Spain, Alexander Kuznetsov, Spain’s ambassador to the Russian Federation, Luis Felipe Fernández de la Peña, Ambassador on Special Mission of the Year Dual Spain-Russia, Mikhail Schvidkoy, and the coordinator of the Year Dual Spain-Russia, Juan Jose Herrera de la Muela.

 During the inauguration there were several performances of Spanish-Russian folk music.  Afterward, H.M. Queen Sofia and Mrs. Svetlana Medvedeva toured a photography exhibition by Andrey Terekhin and the Russian Center of Science and Culture’s library.

Today’s opening was the closing of the Year Dual Spain-Russia. The Year Dual Spain-Russia has given new impetus to bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian field, serves to develop relations in the field of science, culture and education between Spain and Russia.

T.R.H.s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg Attend the Closing Ceremony of the 2011 European Year of Volunteering

T.R.H.s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg attended the closing ceremony of the 2011 European Year of Volunteering organized by the Ministry of Family and Integration, together with the European Commission Representation in Luxembourg on December 5, 2011.

Following the presentation of projects selected by the associations, the Grand Duke and Duchess awarded the Volunteer Award of Merit 2011 to a lucky recipient. This award recognizes organizations that have strategies and innovative ways to guide and support volunteering and volunteers.

Meanwhile, it was announced that the Grand Ducal couple will attend the 2011 Nobel Prize ceremony on December 10, 2011 in Stockholm, Sweden.
