On the morning of Thursday, September 1, 2016, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden gave an opening speech during the plenary session, Building a Resilient Future Through Water, at the 2016 SIWI World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden.
According to the official website for World Water Week today’s session gathered:
“…Global leaders [who highlighted] strategies for delivering the 2030 Agenda and strengthen[ed] climate resilience through wise water management. [Today’s event demonstrated] ways on how the implementation of the 2030 and climate agendas can be better integrated – with water as a useful connector.”
On September 1, 2016, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan warmly welcomed His Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia to the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the crown prince “…arrived in Tokyo late Wednesday on the third leg of his three-nation Asia tour that started in Pakistan on Sunday, followed by a three-day visit to China.”
On the morning of Thursday, September 1, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the United Nations Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance and Development, met with the President of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, at the presidential palace in Jakarta, Indonesia.

On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, met with the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, Ms. Retno Marsudi, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Discussions focused on the economic development in the country of Indonesia.
Earlier in the day, Her Majesty gave a speech during the OJK FinTech Conference. The meeting focused on the “…technological innovations in financial services…” according to AFP News.
On Monday, August 15, 2016, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan arrived at the Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo to attend a memorial service for war victims as well as to mark the 71st anniversary of the end of the World War II.
On Tuesday, August 9, 2016, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium met with various police officers from the Charleroi Police Department in Charleroi, Belgium.
According to AFP News, last Saturday “…two policewomen were stabbed. The attacker screamed ‘Allahu Akbar’. He was hit by a police bullet. One of the officers suffered severe injuries to the face, the other one is lightly injured. The attacker was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.”
