Their Majesties also attended a reception held in their honor at the Governor of Minnesota’s residence, Mark Dayton. According to the newspaper, Twin Cities, Governor Dayton recently proclaimed, “…Saturday as ‘American Swedish Institute Day’…” in recognition of the “… heritage and bonds shared by Minnesota and Sweden.”

On October 6, 2012, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales (also known as The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland) visited “… Ballindalloch Castle to mark the 40th anniversary of the North East Aberdeen-Angus Club and the 150th anniversary of the first volume of the Aberdeen-Angus Herd Book…” The Prince of Wales is patron of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society.

After being warmly greeted by thousands of locals Their Majesties attended a “…Festival Worship Service…” held at the Christ Chapel.
Afterward, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited the Hillstrom Museum of Art where they viewed the exhibition 150 Years of Swedish Art: Highlights from the Swedish National Collections in Stockholm, attended a private luncheon held in their honor, and much more.
