His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain is currently on a four-day official visit to India to “… strengthen bilateral ties in a number of areas including sectors like infrastructure, transport, energy and defense.”
Any way, today the old king visited the Raj Ghat in Delhi where he placed a wreath at the memorial of the late Mahatma Gandhi. Afterward, he signed the “… book of honor and received a bust of Gandhi…”
His Majesty also held a meeting with Sonja Gandhi, Sushma Swaraj and Hamid Hausari. At the end of the day, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I presided over the signing of bilateral agreements and participates in the business forum Espana-India.
Whilst at the opening a Swedish journalist asked Crown Princess Victoria what she thought about the recent engagement announcement between Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill, “It’s terrific. We are all very happy…” beamed the crown princess.
In other news, Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill have left Sweden this afternoon bound for London, England. The Swedish royal court Information Officer, Mr. Bertil Ternert, noted that the couple are in London to meet with relatives. It is unknown how long they will stay in the city. On the morning of October 25, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium attended the 2012 Essenscia Innovation Award ceremony held at the Palais des Academies in Brussels.
According to the Belgian royal court this new award will be “… presented every two years by Essenscia, the Belgian federation of chemical and life sciences, to encourage innovation in the sector of the Belgian economy.”
On Thursday, October 25, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II attended the opening of the redesigned Jubilee Gardens in London. According to the BBC News the “… recent transformation of the Jubilee Gardens was completed 35 years after they were first created in 1977 to celebrate The Queen’s Silver Jubilee.”
