On June 1, 2013, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias attended Día de las Fuerzas Armadas 2013 in Madrid.
The remembrance ceremony, held on the Plaza de la Lealtad, takes place “…in tribute to fallen soldiers…”
Afterwards, Their Majesties hosted a gala luncheon at Palacio de la Zarzuela for the Ministers of Defense as well as other officials representing the Spanish Armed Forces.
On a beautiful Saturday morning at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Epsom, Surrey, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh attended the Derby Stakes (or as many refer to it, Epsom Derby) races.
Accompanying Her Majesty and the duke were His Royal Highness The Duke of York as well as Their Royal Highnesses Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of York.

On the evening of Thursday, May 30, 2013, Their Imperial and Royal Highnesses Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduchess and Archduke of Austria-Este, attended the 52nd Annual Rose d’Or Awards held at the Square Brussels Meeting Center. The Imperial and Royal couple were guests of honor at this year’s ceremony according to the official website for the Rose d’Or Awards.
On May 31, 2013, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden attended Stenhammardagen organized by the Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet and Stenhammars Godsförvaltning (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Stenhammar Estate Management). According to the Swedish royal court, this year’s theme was the economy and profitability.
On Friday, May 31, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands opened the new Arnhem-Leeuwarden courthouse in the Grote of Jacobijnerkerk in Leeuwarden.

On the evening of May 31, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended a party in Monte-Carlo to celebrate “…AS Monaco’s 2012-13 season and their come back in the French Premier League football for the next season…”
During this evening’s celebrations Prince Albert II presented a lovely gift to Russian gazillionaire and AS Monaco football club president, Mr. Dmitry Rybolovlev. Well, that was nice of him. 🙂 For more information about tonight’s event please click here.

In other news, as you may know by now Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco has graced the current cover of VOGUE Japan Health & Beauty. According to a press release sent to me from Akris Princess Charlene’s 6-page feature was styled by Akris creative director, Mr. Albert Kriemler. In the issue the princess discusses her “…charitable educational sports program for children organized by the Fondation Princesse Charlene de Monaco.”
