His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden Presents the Hjärt-Lungfondens Research Grant.

danielOn Wednesday, June 26, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden presented the 2013 Hjärt-Lungfondens “…major research grant, worth 15 million Swedish Kroner, to Professor Leif Svensson of the Department of Cardiology at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm…” according to a press release from the Hjärt-Lungfondens.

Professor Svensson received the grant for his:

“…research into sudden cardiac arrest and the formation of a national center for cardiac arrest, The Center for Cardiac Arrest Science.  The purpose of the center is to tie together all of Sweden and few hospitals, ambulance and emergency services to work together more effectively.  The center conducted scientific studies of different and innovative treatments to improve survival in sudden cardiac arrest.”

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain.

On June 26, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Instituto Cajal in Madrid to present the VI Diploma Cajal prize.  Each year the prize is awarded to a neuroscientist for their outstanding research.  This year the prize went to Professor Rodolfo Llinás.

After the ceremony, Her Majesty visited Instituto Cajal’s the library, research facility, museum and archives according to the Spanish royal court.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Visits Haut-de-Cagnes, France.

PalaisPrincierOn June 26, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in the lovely village of Haut-de-Cagnes, France for a one-day visit as “…part of his travels to several French cities linked to the history of the house of Grimaldi.”  Upon his arrival the sovereign prince was warmly welcomed by the mayor of the village, Mr. Louis Nègre, and by other local officials.

According to the Palais Princier, Prince Albert II began his visit with a tour of the newly restored Eglise Saint-Pierre du Haut-de-Cagnes. Soon, he was off to tour Château-Musée Grimaldi constructed by the sovereign prince’s ancestor, Rainier Grimaldi, in 1309. Whilst there the prince unveiled a shiny new plaque commemorating his visit.

Afterward, Prince Albert II toured the town square where he along with Mayor Nègre gave speeches in front of the locals and then attended a reception held in the sovereign prince’s honor.

TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Visit Northern Ireland. Day Two.

ccOn Wednesday, June 26, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall continued their visit to Northern Ireland.

Today, the royal couple visited the towns of Moy and Caledon in County Tyrone where they toured the “…Mill Street Cottage, the Beam Engine and Engine House, the St James’ Church, and met volunteers from YouthAction Northern Ireland, and learnt about the work they do in the local community…” according to UTV Live News.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Holds an Important Meeting.

jordanOn June 25, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an important meeting with the European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Emma Bonino, in Amman.

According to Petra News, discussions focused on issues related to the Middle East and the Syrian crisis which:

“…Jordan is shouldering the burdens that are both heavy and increasing while straining its limited resources and infrastructures as a result of the influx of Syrian refugees, and urged the international community to continue assuming its responsibilities to support the country’s assistance to refugees…”

Her Royal Highness Princess Claire of Belgium Visits Camp Tournesol.

claireOn the morning of June 25, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Claire of Belgium arrived in Spa in the province of Liège to spend a day with 50 young Cancer patients at Camp Tournesol.

Upon her arrival the princess was warmly welcomed by staff, doctors, and of course the children attending the camp.  Throughout the day Princess Claire played games with the children and congratulated the Fondation Contre le Cancer for “…organizing Camp Tournesol for the past 25 years.”
