Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands Opens a New Exhibition in Amsterdam. (VIDEOS)

BeatrixOn Thursday, June 27, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands arrived at the Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam to officially open the new exhibition entitled, Het Paleis en de Dam: 400 Jaar Hart van de Amsterdamse Grachten.

Per the official website for the Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam regarding this great new exhibition: 

“The stately Royal Palace stands on the west side of Dam Square, the most famous public space in the Netherlands. The two have been inextricably linked since the seventeenth century. Situated in the heart of the city, they have witnessed some of the most momentous events in the country’s history. In people’s minds they are associated with many different things – royal ceremonies and public celebrations, academic debate and political protest, moments of remembrance and commemoration.

The Palace and Dam Square’ focuses on the relationship between the Royal Palace and Dam Square which, together, have formed the vibrant hub of the city and its canal district for the past four hundred years.”

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias Attend the 2013 Premios Fundación Príncipe de Girona.

On the evening of June 26, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias arrived at the Palacio de Congresos in Girona to attend the 2013 Premios Fundación Príncipe de Girona.

The awards are presented to individuals and organizations for their “…outstanding entrepreneurial capacity in innovative project” according to the official website for the Fundación Príncipe de Girona.

Afterward, the royal couple and hundreds of guests attended a concert held at the Sala Sinfónica de Auditorio.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Meets With the New Emir of Qatar. (VIDEO)

On June 26, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Hussein of Jordan arrived in Doha, Qatar to meet with the new Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

During their meeting, according to Petra News, His Majesty wished the new emir:

“…good luck and success in leading Qatar and the Qatari people to greater success and prosperity.  His Majesty also reiterated Jordan’s desire to enhance fraternal and cooperative relations between the two ‘brotherly’ countries and build on what has been achieved, serving the two countries’ common interests and boosting the joint Arab action.”

After the meeting His Majesty, Prince Ali, Sheikh Tamim, and members of Qatar’s royal family as well as His Majesty’s delegation attended a gala luncheon.

His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden Presents the Hjärt-Lungfondens Research Grant.

danielOn Wednesday, June 26, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden presented the 2013 Hjärt-Lungfondens “…major research grant, worth 15 million Swedish Kroner, to Professor Leif Svensson of the Department of Cardiology at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm…” according to a press release from the Hjärt-Lungfondens.

Professor Svensson received the grant for his:

“…research into sudden cardiac arrest and the formation of a national center for cardiac arrest, The Center for Cardiac Arrest Science.  The purpose of the center is to tie together all of Sweden and few hospitals, ambulance and emergency services to work together more effectively.  The center conducted scientific studies of different and innovative treatments to improve survival in sudden cardiac arrest.”

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain.

On June 26, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Instituto Cajal in Madrid to present the VI Diploma Cajal prize.  Each year the prize is awarded to a neuroscientist for their outstanding research.  This year the prize went to Professor Rodolfo Llinás.

After the ceremony, Her Majesty visited Instituto Cajal’s the library, research facility, museum and archives according to the Spanish royal court.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Visits Haut-de-Cagnes, France.

PalaisPrincierOn June 26, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in the lovely village of Haut-de-Cagnes, France for a one-day visit as “…part of his travels to several French cities linked to the history of the house of Grimaldi.”  Upon his arrival the sovereign prince was warmly welcomed by the mayor of the village, Mr. Louis Nègre, and by other local officials.

According to the Palais Princier, Prince Albert II began his visit with a tour of the newly restored Eglise Saint-Pierre du Haut-de-Cagnes. Soon, he was off to tour Château-Musée Grimaldi constructed by the sovereign prince’s ancestor, Rainier Grimaldi, in 1309. Whilst there the prince unveiled a shiny new plaque commemorating his visit.

Afterward, Prince Albert II toured the town square where he along with Mayor Nègre gave speeches in front of the locals and then attended a reception held in the sovereign prince’s honor.
