On Saturday, March 26, 2022, Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg sent a video message of support to those who are participating in the 2022 Relais Pour la Vie (Relay for Life).
The Relay for Life is a two-day race that raises money for the Fondation Cancer de Luxembourg. The Grand Duchess is the Honorary President of the foundation.
On the afternoon of Friday, March 25,2022, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited the Reclassering Nederland (Dutch Probation Service) in Amsterdam.
According to RVD, the Dutch Probation Service is:
“…committed to preventing and reducing criminal behaviour. The work revolves around behavioral change of suspects and convicts. To this end, the probation service provides advice to judges, the Public Prosecution Service and the prison system and prepares risk analyses. In addition, probation officers supervise, provide behavioral training and assist probation officers in the execution of community service. Every year, the Dutch Probation Service takes care of about 75,000 people, more than half of them are younger than 35 years. The organization works together with the police, the Public Prosecution Service, courts, municipalities and prisons, but also with partners in the social domain.”
During his visit, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander met with the employees of the Dutch Probation Service and a number of partner organizations.
On Friday, March 25, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their royal visit to the beautiful Bahamas in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee year.
The day began with a visit to the Sybil Strachan Primary School in Nassau where The Duke and Duchess met with teachers, staff, and enthusiastic students. During their visit, the royal couple planted a tree and received a painting of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Soon, it was off to meet with healthcare workers “…who have been on the frontline of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic…” Then they were whisked off to watch a fabulous parade in Parliament Square and finally the royal couple participated in the Platinum Jubilee regatta.
This evening, The Duke and Duchess will attend the Governor-General’s reception held at the Baha Mar Beach Resort and Convention Center.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain visited the lovely city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cádiz, Spain.
According to the Spanish royal court, His Majesty King Felipe VI began his day with a visit to the Biblioteca Pública Municipal Rafael Pablos. Whilst there, His Majesty met with various local government officials, associations, and institutions from the Sociedad Civil Sanluqueña. The king also received the Keys to the City from the mayor of Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
Thereafter, His Majesty visited a winery, attended a luncheon held in his honor, toured the Puerto de Bonanza, met with the locals, and much more. Overall, His Majesty King Felipe VI had a jam-packed day, and apparently, he had a fabulous time. Yay!
On Friday, March 25, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall continued their royal visit to fantastic Ireland as part of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee year.
During today’s visit, Their Royal Highnesses attended a celebration with traditional Irish music at the Brú Ború Cultural Center in Cashel, County Tipperary, met with the community at Cahir Farmers Market, and toured The Rock of Cashel which was “…originally the seat of the Kings of Munster, it is now one of Ireland’s most iconic tourist attractions…” according to Clarence House.
On Thursday, March 24, 2022, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway arrived at The Clarion Hotel: The Hub in Oslo to attend a conference organized by the Norsk Bibliotekforening.
The conference, held under the theme Les for Livet (Read for Life), consisted of a series of lectures, debates, and seminars on the library’s role in society, diversity, sustainability, digitalization, and knowledge dissemination.
According to the Norwegian royal court, during yesterday’s event, the four conference panelists discussed “…why we read less and how to encourage and motivate children and young people,in particular, to read more.”
On Thursday, March 24, 2022, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the start of the National Commemoration Year 1572 held at the Sint-Catharijnekerk in Brielle.
According to RVD, the celebrations will focus on, “…four values that have been at stake since the Eighty Years’ War: Freedom, Tolerance, Solidarity and Diversity, with attention to their current context.” On April 1, 1572, the Watergeuzen captured the port of Den Briel. In an article from Arts and Culture the take over of Den Briel marked a:
“…turning point in the uprising of the Low Countries against Spain in the Eighty Years’ War. Militarily the success was minor as the port of Brielle was undefended, but it provided the first foothold on land for the rebels at a time when the rebellion was all but crushed, and it offered the sign for a new revolt throughout the Netherlands which led to the formation of the Dutch Republic.”
During yesterday’s event, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander unveiled the memorial stone, Brielle 450 years Firstling of Freedom. The king also received the “…first copy of ‘Willem van Oranje in Letters: The Revolt in 1572’, presented by the chairman of the 1572-Municipalities Partnership.”
