His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden visited Ockelbolägret (Ockelbo camp) this morning to hang out with those attending, well, camp. Anyway, upon his arrival the prince was warmly greeted by various officials and of course the campers themselves.
Soon, Prince Daniel and those attending Ockelbolägret toured Älgparken where they met cute animals, including a giant Moose, and visited the Vildmarksgalleriet.
And, that’s it. 🙂

This morning RVD announced that the funeral for His Royal Highness the late Prince Johan Friso of Oranje-Nassau will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013, in Lage Vuursche in the municipality of Baarn in the province of Utrecht. Lage Vuursche is just east of Kasteel Drakesteyn the residence of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands.
The private funeral will be led by Reverend C.A. ter Linden. RVD also notes that “…after a service in the Stulpkerk in Lage Vuursche the Prince will be laid to rest in the adjacent cemetery. A memorial service for Prince Friso will be held later in the year.”

On the morning of Tuesday, August 13, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark along with their eldest daughter, Princess Isabella, met with the press in front of their home, Frederik VIII’s Palace, Amalienborg, in Copenhagen.
The purpose of this morning’s event was to photograph the family before Princess Isabella started her first day of school at the Tranegårdsskolen in Hellerup.

Later in the afternoon, Crown Prince Frederik arrived at the Forsvarsakademiets in Copenhagen to present scholarships from the Anders Lassen Fonden (foundation). According to the official website for the foundation the purpose of the scholarship is to:
“…support and encourage injured Danish military personnel [by] providing financial contribution as recognition or encouragement to members or former members of the special forces or the Danish Frogman Corps for their efforts…”
On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan arrived in the Miyagi Prefecture to visit several areas that were affected by the March 11, 2011, earthquake off the Tōhoku coast and the devastating tsunami that followed.
The imperial couple began their day with a visit to a temporary housing complex in Sendai City where they met with residents and toured the building. Afterward, the crown prince and crown princess were given a tour of areas that were destroyed by the massive tsunami and visited a factory in Miyagino-ku.
On August 12, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Fundación Joana Barceló in Palma on the island of Mallorca to visit the facilities of the organization, Cáritas Mallorca. The organization aids the socially and economically disadvantaged.

On August 12, 2013, Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan along with their daughter, Princess Aiko, arrived at the Izukyū-Shimoda train station in Shimoda, Japan to begin their brief summer holiday at the Suzaki Imperial Villa located in the Shizuoka Prefecture.
On Monday, August 12, 2013, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the Wolfson Lecture Theatre at the Royal Society of Edinburgh to present Royal Medals to “…Professor Sir John Cadogan, Professor Michael Ferguson and Sir Ian Wood…” according to ITV News. The Royal Medals are awarded annually in several categories which include Physical and Engineering Sciences, Business and Commerce, Life Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
This is the duke’s first public engagement since having exploratory abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in June 2013.
