Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Visits Morocco: Day Three.

drf-coaOn her final day in Morocco Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, accompanied by representatives from the Mary Fonden, visited the Association Pour le Développement Likaa NGO.  Whilst there the crown princess toured Likaa’s one of charity shops, according to the Danish royal court.

Thereafter, Crown Princess Mary arrived at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca were she was given a tour.  Soon, the crown princess arrived at Tilila, a shelter for women who were victims of domestic abuse, where she was given a tour of the facility and met with several of the women as well as their children living in the shelter.

KingWAOn Wednesday, September 4, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands received credentials from ambassadors representing Denmark, Libya, and Vietnam at Paleis Noordeinde in Den Haag.

Afterward, His Majesty held a brief audience with Professor J.TH.J van den Berg who presented the king with the book entitled, De Eerste Hondervijftig Jaar: Parlementaire Geschiedenis van Nederland, 1796-1946.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Leiden to open the newly renovated historic tropical greenhouse complex at Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world.  

According to the official website for Hortus Botanicus:

“The Universiteit Leiden commenced on a program of sustainable renovation of the historical tropical glasshouses at the Hortus Botanicus Leiden in April 2012. 

The level of the first glasshouse has been raised and a canopy walk has been constructed from which the visitor can look down on a tropical forest from above. There is a newly created classroom balcony, which will be the starting point for guided tours of the glasshouses. 

The tropical glasshouses will accommodate scientific collections as well those interesting for the general public.”

On September 3, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan attended the “…launch of the internship program, Fursati Lilamayyoz, carried out by the Queen’s non-profit educational organization, Jordan Education Initiative (JEI), to improve employment opportunities for ICT graduates and for those who have finished their studies less than two years ago…” according to Petra News.

Meanwhile, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan attended the opening of the conference, The Challenges Facing Arab Christians, in Amman.

HM Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visits Stichting Manteling. (VIDEOS)

maximaOn the morning of September 3, 2103, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Middleburg to attend a presentation and visit with Stichting Manteling.

According to RVD, Stichting Manteling is the winner of the Oranje Fonds Kroonappel in the category, Helpende Hand.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Visits Rabat, Morocco: Day Two.

Mary monogramOn September 3, 2013, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, accompanied by representatives from the Mary Fonden (Foundation), continued her visit to Rabat, Morocco.  The purpose of the visit is to carry out a series of engagements with the “…objective to combat violence against women and improve women’s rights generally in the Middle East and North Africa…” according to the Danish royal court.

This morning the crown princess arrived at the Danish Embassy where she held a meeting with two representatives from Morocco fighting for women’s rights.  Soon, Crown Princess Mary and representatives from the Mary Fonden arrived at the Union de l’Action Féminine (UAF), a shelter for women who were victims of domestic violence.

Thereafter, the crown princess and her delegation met with women who were victims of violence, attended a luncheon hosted by the Danish Ambassador to Morocco, and met with the women’s rights organization, La Ligue Démocratique des Droits des Femmes (LLDF).

Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden is Pregnant! (VIDEO)

Sweden2It was announced by the Swedish royal court that Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband, Mr. Christopher O’Neill, are expecting their first child.  The baby is due in the beginning of March 2014.

The princess and Mr. O’Neill were married on June 8, 2013, at the beautiful Slottskyrkan at the royal palace in Stockholm.

Wonderful news!  Congrats to the couple!   🙂
