HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Receives an Honorary Doctorate. (VIDEOS)

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco received an Honorary Doctorate of Marine Science from Plymouth University in South West England this afternoon for his “…commitment to [the] marine environment and conservation…”

According to Plymouth University’s official website, after the ceremony the sovereign prince was given a tour of the: 

“…university’s £19 million Marine Building for a demonstration of its advanced wave tanks, used for testing marine-based renewable energy devices and simulating coastlines and flood defense. 

He also met some of the researchers in the Marine Institute that he’s helped fund through his Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting the environment.”

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Presents an Award During the 7th Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards Ceremony and Dinner.

RaniaJordanOn the evening of September 25, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan attended the 7th Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards ceremony and dinner in New York City.

During the event Her Majesty presented the Leadership in Civil Society Award to 16-year-old, Miss Malala Yousafzai, co-founder of the Malala Fund and advocate for educational rights for girls as well as women’s rights.

marieofdenmarkOn September 25, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark accompanied by the Danish Minister of Education, Mr. Morten Østergaard and the President of the Council of Technology and Innovation, Ms. Conni Simonsen, arrived at Grev Moltkes Palace in Copenhagen to present  the 2013 Innovation Storm Prizes to five Danish companies.

Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Attend a Gala Evening Concert. Plus, Other News.

belgiumOn the afternoon of September 25, 2013, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium welcomed Mr. Jacques Rogge and his wife, Anne, to Château de Laeken.

During their meeting, His Majesty presented the Grand Croix de l’Ordre de la Couronne to Mr. Rogge who was the former President of the International Olympic Committee.

This evening King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended a concert at theNotre-Dame de la Cambre in Ixelles in tribute to the “…20 year reign of King Albert II of Belgium and in memory of the late King Baudouin of Belgium organized by the Association de la Noblesse du Royaume de Belgique…” according to the Belgian royal court.

Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias Holds an Audience. (VIDEOS)

Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias held an audience this afternoon at Palacio de la Zarzuela for participants from the international youth program, My Europe.  The program permits participants to engage in lectures and conversations with prominent European leaders from the areas of business and politics.

Thereafter, the princess accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias arrived at the Hospital Universitario Quirón in Madrid to visit His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain.  The old king is recovering from hip surgery.

On the evening of September 23, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City to attend a reception hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for visiting Heads of State and Government participating in the United Nations 68th General Assembly Session.

Palais Princier.Last evening, Their Serene Highnesses hosted a lovely dinner in New York City in honor of the Principality of Monaco’s admittance to the United Nations.  Guests at the dinner included the President of Palau, Thomas Remengesau, Jr., the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi, and the President of Kiribati, Anote Tong, to name a few.
