On November 11, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived at the Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ in Amsterdam to preside over the 2013 Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prijs.
According to RVD, the winner of the award, plus cash worth 75,000 Euros, went to “…Piet Oudolf for his achievements in the field of gardening and landscape design.”
On Monday, November 11, 2013, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and His Royal Highness Prince Laurent of Belgium participated in the Last Post ceremony in Ypres, Belgium.
The ceremony commemorates the hundreds of thousands soldiers who died during World War I.
On Sunday, November 10, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall continued their nine-day visit to India. The royal couple began their day by attending Remembrance Sunday service at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Mumbai.
From there the royal couple arrived in Pune to visit the Kirkee Commonwealth Cemetery which “…contains 1,668 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War…” according to Clarence House. Thereafter, The Prince of Wales visited the Serum Institute and attended a reception at the Indian Turf Club.
On the afternoon of November 10, 2013, Her Imperial Majesty Empress Michiko of Japan arrived at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall to attend a classical music concert featuring Japanese pianist, Mr. Izumi Tateno, and the Chamber Orchestra La Tempesta.
On November 10, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands arrived at the Ridderzaal in Den Haag to attend a gala concert in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds.
On Sunday, November 10, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent, and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, The Honorable Lady Oglivy, honored those who served and died in combat during the annual Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph Memorial in Whitehall, London.
