On the afternoon of May 11, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco gave a speech during the seminar entitled, Northbound: The North Sea and the Arctic Ocean, Threats and Solutions, held at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco in Monaco-Ville.

On the evening of Tuesday, May 10, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended a gala dinner fundraiser, held under the theme Gastronomy of the Dominican Republic, at the Yacht Club de Monaco in Monte-Carlo.

Organized by the Monégasque Ibéro-Américaine (AMI) in collaboration with the Dominican Embassy in France and Monaco and the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports of Monaco, the gala dinner raised money for the “…actions and humanitarian projects in favor of the fight against child malnutrition in Latin America…” according to the official website of the Monégasque Ibéro-Américaine (AMI).

HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway Attends the Opening of Together on Tour in Drammen.

On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, as Patron of Year of Volunteering, attended the opening of Together on Tour in Drammen, Norway.

According to the Norwegian royal court, Together on Tour is a national charity with the aim of:

“…getting more people active and reducing loneliness. The initiative is a collaboration between Norsk Friluftsliv, on behalf of the 18 major outdoor organizations, together with the National Association for Public Health, the Cancer Society, the Norwegian Women’s Medical Association, and the Norwegian Tourist Association.

The volunteer work was created when the associations, which all work to create good meeting places and low-threshold activities throughout the country, wanted to have a joint celebration of the Year of Volunteering in 2022.”

TMs King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan Receive the Path to Peace Award in New York City.

On the evening of Monday, May 9, 2022, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan received the Path to Peace Award presented by the Path to Peace Foundation affiliated with the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations.

Their Majesties received the award in appreciation of their role in promoting interfaith harmony and dialogue, as well as bolstering prospects for peace, and in recognition of Jordan’s humanitarian efforts to host refugees.

According to a press release, via the Hashemite royal court, in his acceptance speech His Majesty stated:

“Our journey on the path to peace must travel through Jerusalem. Billions of people around the world hold that Holy City in their hearts. It is home to our prayers and home to our hopes.

As Custodian of its Muslim and Christian Holy Sites, I say to you all, my friends, that upholding the historical and legal status quo at these holy places is essential for peace, for harmony, and freedom of worship. Jerusalem should be an anchor for peace and coexistence, not for fear and violence.”

His Majesty also urged the international community to “…help the Palestinians and the Israelis get back to work to end the crisis to reach just and lasting peace that can provide a future of hope for both parties, based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side-by- side with Israel in peace and security.”

[Accepting the award] on behalf of all Jordanians who uphold the historic values and noble heritage of our land, by living and working in mutual respect, by sustaining Jordan as an oasis of peace, and by reaching out in compassion to those in need, and offering sanctuary to millions of refugees over the years.”

On Friday, May 13, His Majesty King Abdullah II will meet with the President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden, at the White House in Washington, D.C. The meeting will cover the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, and ways to bolster it across all sectors, as well as the latest regional and international developments.

Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the Opening of the Conference, Meer Muziek in Mijn Klas.

On the afternoon of May 10, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended the opening of the conference entitled, Meer Muziek in Mijn Klas (More Music in My Class), held at the Paleis Noordeinde in Den Haag.

Meer Muziek in Mijn Klas Foundation, which organized today’s conference, is committed to:

“…structural music education for all 1.4 million primary school children in the Netherlands and the Caribbean. Music education enlarges the world of a child and contributes to the cognitive, social and creative development of children. The foundation shows how valuable music education is. It increases teachers’ knowledge and establishes regional collaborations between schools and their cultural environment.”

During today’s opening, Her Majesty Queen Maxima gave a speech in front of hundreds of teachers, school leaders, and teacher training students participating in the conference which includes various interactive workshops.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Holds an Audience with the Co-Recipient of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Ms. Nadia Murad.

On Monday, May 9, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco held an audience with the co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner and Human Rights Activist, Ms. Nadia Murad, at the Palais Princier in Monaco-Ville. Prince’s Palace.

Ms. Murad is a Yazidi from Sinjar (Kurdistan) in northern Iraq. In 2014, she was captured by Islamic State fighters and held as a sex slave for several months before managing to escape. Since then, she has tirelessly told her story around the world to help Yazidi survivors, defend the rights of marginalized ethnic and religious minorities, and fight against the use of rape as a weapon of war.

According to the Palais Princier, the sovereign prince recalled:


“…during his audience with Ms. Murad, his support for survivors of sexual violence linked to conflicts throughout the world as well as the possibility for Monaco to participate in projects in the fields of education and health, through various entities. Ms. Murad concluded her moving story by offering Prince Albert II her autobiography So that I am the Last which she wrote to help the Yazidi people and all other women victims of violence.”

(VIDEOS) Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain Presides Over the Delivery of the Medallas de Oro de Cruz Roja.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 10, 2022 Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the Medallas de Oro de Cruz Roja during the celebrations of Día Mundial de la Cruz Roja y de la Media Luna Roja held at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia, Spain.

Today’s celebration and award ceremony paid tribute to the fundamental principles, values, history, and achievements of the Red Cross movement.

In her speech, Her Majesty Queen Letizia noted that the she has valued the diversity with which the recipents of the award and entities help society to “…be better…” Her Majesty also highlighted the constant commitment of the Red Cross with “…every human being who needs help anywhere in the world, vulnerable due to wars, COVID-10, lack of opportunities, migratory movements due to poverty, climate change or armed conflicts, and that are a challenge for the Red Cross.”
